Why
are people complaining because Kaizer Chiefs have nine Bafana Bafana players;
Itumeleng Khune, Siphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala, Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane,
Lehlohonolo Majoro, Bernard Parker, George Lebese, Keegan Ritchie, Josta Dladla
and Tefo Mashamaite. About three of them are World Cup players. We have Mandla
Masango in the Olympic team. We also have four Zimbabwean internationals that
were in the team that beat Bafana Bafana.
People
must do ‘research before they post’ their comments. What quality players are
they talking about? You want to tell me that there was a better striker than
Majoro in the Premier Soccer League last season bar Knowledge Musona, a better
player in the PSL than Parker when Chiefs signed him from FC Twente, a better
left-back than Ritchie available in the PSL when Chiefs sign him?
Mashamaite
was the rock of Bidvest Wits defence and a captain. He was one of PSL best
defenders last season and he was earmarked to be a replacement of Aaron Mokoena
in Bafana. We all know that Chiefs wanted to sign Bongani Khumalo, but the
player decided to be a spectator at White Hart Lane stands.
We
also approach Mamelodi Sundowns for Elias Pelembe but he opted to remain at his
team. We also know the Sifiso Myeni story. Chiefs gave him a good offer late
but his mother decided for him to join our rival, Orlando Pirates.
The
Siyabonga Sangweni story, it is not a secret that Golden Arrows Chairperson
Manto Madlala does not want to do business with Chiefs, she rather do swap
deals with Pirates. What do you want Chiefs to do to find what you describe as
quality in the PSL?
Do
u think Njabulo Manqana, the boy from Free State Stars and Boa Morte signed by
Pirates in January are quality? I don't think so.
