Greetings Diskioff readers... first of all thanks to Proffesor and crew (Baile, Mr. Know it ALL, and Nito) for allowing me to write for Diskioff. I’m so excited to be writing this article as mentioned above especially rebuilding our Bafana Bafana supporters.Yes Bafana won the AFCON 96 with top players yet what made Bafana to be a force to be recorn with? It’s the very supporters who supported Bafana from the day they were reinstated in competitive soccer in the 90s.
We were losing 4-0, 2-0 and so forth yet fans were still packing stadiums and behind Bafana all the way until we were ranked in top 5 in Africa. Now that 2010 is near we need get behind Bafana because they need the 12 men on the field.
It’s our team and we must be proud. Here are tips of growing fan base for Bafana:
• We need a P.R.O. remember how organised our SAFA was as the P.R.O. was making things easier for them.
• We need unity-black and white - we need to unite and be a team.
• Don’t boo our players. We saw what happened to Papi Zothwane (Cape Town).
• Bafana must be for the South Africans not Gauteng. We saw how Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Mpumalanga and etc were packed the stadiums and supporting the team.
