People were talking about Ghana having brought the B side. Well to me there is no such and everyone who down the national team jersey is representing the whole nation. Well they might not have brought their stars, but after all we played Ghana, The black Stars.
My word, Bloemfontein does not seize to amaze me. This comes just some few weeks after I wrote an article on the Siwelele Supporters. I know yesterday it was all South Africans from all over Bloemfontein who went to the Vodacom Park to support the National Team, but truth be told. The Siwelele Supporters came in large numbers, and we need to applaud them. You could see their influence on the other fans.
These guys went out there to sell our football and this augurs well with our preparations for 2010. Everyone everywhere in the world who was watching the game yesterday would have seen that South Africans are passionate about their team. I have always stressed that with our support, Bafana Bafana would do wonders. The people of Bloemfontein have given a major task to all of us. They set the standard, the bar is being raised and I pity whoever has to host the National Team next.
What goes into making the support that we see in Bloem? Isn’t it about time we all go to Ntate Molemela for the recipe? What is it that Bloem Celtics is doing that all the other teams find it impossible to do? Aren’t the people there living below the poverty line? Are they all employed? Is it cheaper to watch the game in Bloemfontein? Are they using dollars?
