I have been compelled by a lot of my friends who are Diskioff faithfuls to make them understand the Sthembiso Ngcobo issue. Well I was hesitant at first, because I hardly know the boy. To be honest I hardly ever watched a single Free State Stars game.
They are a small team, and they really haven’t made any impact whatsoever on the league, since they came back. To be honest, watching Free State Stars would be a total waste of time.
Ok, now this unknown man (25) comes and give these crazy reasons for snubbing the national team:
1. Fitness level not at his best
2. He has recurring knee injury
3. His confidence level is not high enough to represent the national team, and;
4. He feels he is not yet on top of his game and does not want to add numbers to the squad, but to add value.
Well said, and Free State Stars (What a long Name), expect us to believe all this. I won’t even dwell on the crazy reasons, but try to make sense of all this situation. The team says: "The player had traveled with the team to Port Elizabeth to play against Bay United unprepared to travel back to the Bafana camp in Polokwane."
"Ngcobo only knew of his selection on Monday, February 9 at the PSL Press Conference at the PSL offices, therefore he was unable to inform the national team in time of his unavailability for the Wednesday game against Chile."
Now the two statements makes it clear who instructed the player not to go to Polokwane. It’s very clear that the team (FSS) needs the player now more than ever to try and escape the not so evidend drop from the PSL. Their other coach, still have some sour grapes with his former employer (SAFA), so I think all this will make him feel better about himself. I can already hear him (Mr. English) trying to convince everyone He had nothing to do with all this.
Let’s forget the Man, he is not even a boy. He is old enough to go play for Mamelodi Sundowns, in preparations for his retirement.
