Look, when the Americans said they will be the first to send a Man to the moon, they did not just say that and fold their arms and wish for someone to tell them He has the solution to their dream. They made Maths and Science compulsory at school. They invested largely in their Education system, and they indeed made it to the moon.
So we can learn from them, in this case we built an academy that will deal with this problem of freezing in front of the goal line. If we can give some few individuals R70m (I hope Mr. Know it ALL don’t get me wrong), I do not see us failing in establishing and funding such an institution. I mean I watched the Orlando Pirates game (just to impress Miss K), and there was a penalty for Free State Stars, and all the players so it fit for the goal keeper to run from the other end of the pitch to take it. There is nothing wrong with the keeper taking a penalty.
Then Pirates had their own, and oh boy, it was saved. So we can’t even convert from a spot kick? Or our goal keepers have improved, and the defence is so tight? Well we need to start addressing this problem or we doomed. We should think of our soccer beyond 2010.
