Age cheating is a problem

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 | Wednesday, February 04, 2009

This is a problem facing most teams from the African continent. I don't want to offend anyone, but black African players are the worse when it comes to age cheating. This has a negative impact to our league, you find a thirty year old player claiming to be twenty-one years old. I mean how on earth you find a twenty one year old married with two kids; it doesn't make sense at all.

I've played football for as long as I can remember, played armature leagues (still do) and played against some of the current PSL stars. I am saying this because I witnessed age cheating on trials and stuff. I haven't witnessed age cheating by white players, white player's steak to the rules and always honest (well am talking about white players that I know). When it comes to the black brothers the same thing cannot be said. This is injustice for the young players with great talent.

This is not only happening in the PSL, it happens more in the lower divisions. Just take a time out to attend the under 17 trials anywhere in this country, you will find guys your age clamming they are 16 years old I am talking about guys who broke more than four shaving machines and lots of razor blades.

These big guys outplay the real under seventeen's physically and then they get selected, this kills the spirit of our young gifted players. I blame the parents, Club bosses and mostly home affairs (simply horror affairs).

It's not a secret that some club officials are involved in this. Players get new birth certificate from horror Affairs (bribes, and more bribes). I blame the parents for not saying anything, parent know their kids better but still don't say anything when the kids change their birth date.

You all know what I am talking about, I mean we see a good player who claims to be 21 and he's married with three kids, if we use common sense (of which we all have) we'll ask ourselves, how can this happen? This culprits plays well for few seasons and fades away when their real age catches them. That's why it's not surprising to see a 29 year old player retiring, when we thing they are 29! They are actually 45.

Come on guys let's allow nature take its course and stop cheating because you denying young players a chance to shine or even becoming something the world has never seen.

I urge all the black brothers to stop this. I am not saying white's do not cheat, but I haven't experience it at all I have played with them, but they honest, hardworking ( no skills though) but they are committed to what they do, so fellow black players let's stop this age cheating and play diski. "No offence intended"
