I
have been following Manchester United for over two decades now. One thing is
for sure a great manager will win you titles with an average team, but a good
manager will only reach so far even with a great team.
This
is definitely not a great team but it is a very good one capable of winning
leagues and more. Hence it is the ability of the manager which is question
right now because of his failure to motivate his players when under pressure.
Also
I feel that David Moyes has not been able to give up the Evertonian mentality
which is reflected in some of his post match interviews and that is the primary
reason why he is handicapped.
1)
David Moyes has failed to identify his Best XI even after 28 games of the
league season which tells me that he has not done enough home work and that has
reflected in his transfer policy. You spend 27.5m for Fellaini when PSG can get
Cabaye a better midfielder for 15m. Why?
2)
Attitude: After the Arsenal game he said that if someone had offered him 4 points
against Arsenal he would have taken it. I am sorry this is Manchester United we
are not satisfied even if we beat Arsenal four times in the same season or even
when we pump 8 past them so the mentality is a problem which is being reflected
in the quality of the performances on the pitch.
