I’m
writing this letter to you with a screw face due to this un-Pirates tendency
directed towards Lennox Bacela. I have read many insensitive, distasteful,
unmindful, reckless, heartless, uncaring, inhuman and unconstructive criticism
directed to Bacela before he touches any ball which is very regrettable and
unfairly treatment.
Bacela
is an ideal striker to provide solution of lack of mobility and tremendous pace
in the Pirates striking force. His combination of excellent technique with
burst of pace means he will enjoy dropping deep to link up with Andile Jali and
Oupa ‘Ace’ Manyisa before printing off into space to finish off lethal counter
attacking move with precision. In front of goal, he is clinically.
Bacela
is a huge coup for Orlando Pirates with an ability to score avalanches of goals
as Pirates have the best and most balance creative players coupled with an
effective wing play to create more goal opportunities. Bacela has Cup winning pedigree. He helped
guide Bloemfontein Celtic to win Telkom Knockout Cup last season.
Some
of the things that make Bacela stands out for me are his aerial prowess,
positional play and, most crucially, his composure in front of goal. Those who
watch the week in week out at Celtic would know that while he may not have the
fiercest shot in the game, he’s a wily fox in the box. He goes for precision
over power, and that’s what makes him such an accomplished goal-poacher. His
dead-ball skills are certainly above average.
He
is also s good penalty-taker with a fairly impressive conversion rate. He has
considerable physical presence up front with a phenomenal work rate. Bacela is
bringing mobility, movement and aerial power in the Orlando Pirates team.
My
Bhakaniyas, fasten your seatbelt and relax as judging a book by its cover might
be deceiving judgment but don't forget that patience is virtue.
