Robert Lewandowski became the 8th player in the UEFA Champions League history to score four goals in a single match, joining the likes of Lionel Messi, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Marco Van Basten and Andriy Shevchenkoas, as Borussia Dortmund destroyed Real Madrid 4-1 in the first leg of their semi-final tie.

The Borussia Dortmund striker became the first player to score at least three goals against Madrid in the modern history of the competition.
