The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary
Committee handed down its sanction in matter involving Mamelodi Sundowns FC:
Sundowns
were charged with spectator misbehavior which took place on 02 September 2012
at the Lucas Moripe Stadium after their fixture against Maritzburg United FC.
Sundowns
had at a previous sitting pleaded guilty. The Disciplinary Committee sentenced
Sundowns to a fine of R100 000.00 of which R50 000.00 was suspended on the
following conditions:
a) That the club is not
found guilty of a similar offence within a period of 12 months of the date of
sentence.
b) That the club
complies with the direction given by the Disciplinary Committee that the club
tenders a written apology to the League, SAFA, the sponsors and to the
opposition, which apology is to be published on the League’s website within 7
days of the sentence.
Sundowns
was also ordered to pay all the costs of the sittings.
