Carling Black Label invests in the development of South African soccer coaches

Following the success of the inaugural Carling Black Label BE THE COACH campaign earlier this year, which gave soccer fans across South Africa the sought-after opportunity to be a coach and select the players they wanted to see on the field, Carling Black Label has decided to further solidify their investment in soccer. The Coaches’ Workshop will see a total of 180 coaches receive intensive training over a five-year period.

The Carling Black Label Coaches’ Workshop - developed and run by Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane, assisted by the South African Football Association’s (SAFA) Technical Director, Serame Letsoaka - will sponsor 36 aspirant soccer coaches to participate in a tailored coaching workshop from 28 November to 2 December 2011 at the University of Johannesburg’s (UJ) Soweto Campus.

“While there are many programmes focusing on the development of soccer players, there is still a great need to support and invest in coaching development at a grassroots level in South Africa,” explained Rob Fleming, Head of Sponsorship at South African Breweries. “The Carling Black Label Coaches’ Workshop will develop the skills of talented, young coaches and will equip them for the tough task of moving up a league.”

As such, Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane assisted by SAFA’s Technical Director, Serame Letsoaka, will be presenting the first tailored Coaches’ Workshop to the coaches and assistant coaches of the 18 SAB Regional League Teams.

The Coaches’ Workshop will run from Monday 28 November to Friday 2 December, making use of the facilities at UJ. Workshop content includes inter alia technical and tactical training, sport psychology and management, first aid, nutrition and conditioning. “Contributions by UJ guest lecturers will ensure that there is a real scientific dimension to this course,” confirmed Andrea Quaye, General Manager of Carling Black Label.

Chiefs was pathetic against United

These commentators can be deceiving yerrrrr!! We were simple pathetic (Kaizer Chiefs vs SuperSport United), only played in the last 15 minutes, the less said about the goals we conceded the better.

I won't put my views about the axing of Coach Vladimir Vermezovic because me I’m sleeping now and will not be available the whole day tomorrow (Thursday), but when I come back I want to know what guarantees us that we will win if we get rid of the coach?

Which season that saw us winning the league or the remaining cup after firing the coach? If I can get those answers maybe I can be convinced. For I just hope Kaizer Motaung stick to his words as he said won’t continue doing the same past mistakes of firing a coach.

VV never sold Knowledge Musona, Punch Masenamela, and Valery Nahayo, there for should be given another time to groom other players to reach the level set by those  three players.

The team got more than R30 million for the trio, they were happy, leaving the coach with a stress of getting new players into his system. He said it will take them 6 months, we are on the fourth month now.

South African supporters should start supporting their local clubs

There’s always that small matter of poor attendances at matches - 9 out of 10 times the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and clubs take a chunk of the blame... yes, I agree, those two are partly to blame...

However, we, the fans, supporters and followers of PSL should shoulder the majority of the blame. We need to be honest with ourselves, we do not attend matches as much as we discuss football, and even when we do attend we do not show the support as much as we brag about the teams we support.

Another main issue is the people from places like Khayelitsha, Nongoma, Eastern Cape, Tzaneen, Pella, Nzhelele, 'Hammanskraal' etc. These people are busy supporting Gauteng teams like Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns for example, yet they have teams from their regions, or teams within close proximity of their area.

If people can suddenly support Manchester City, why can’t they dump Pirates and support AmaZulu? What happened to regional pride? Are these people not proud of their region? How come they celebrate individual talent, yet cannot celebrate a collective?

Are they aware that they are hypocrites? I urge anyone from these regions and many more to take a hard look at themselves, and ask themselves if their invested support to Gauteng teams is doing justice to South African football!

If people stuck to their roots, they wouldn’t be hurt by statements made by some individual who reminded them that they are not part of the family.

adidas adizero f50 preview

I love soccer. Call it football, futibol, diski, soccer, ibhola, or whatever, I love this game. Why? A 90 minute soccer game is as close to truth as one can get on this earth. I’m not a professional player, but love to play soccer with my friends and we showcase our talent in five-a-side friendlies to see if we can do better than our heroes we see on the stadiums and TV every day.

I’ve been doing some underground stuff and I’m happy to say that I will be testing the new adidas adizero f50 powered by miCoach. The adizero f50 is not only the fastest boot on the planet, it is also the smartest. REALLY?! Yes, this is the ultimate soccer boot at the moment!!!

Before I TEST the adidas adizero f50 soccer boots on Saturday, here is what you need to know about this latest version of adidas:

·         SPRINTSKIN single-layer synthetic upper for great ball feel with less weight
·         Internal sprint web for increased stability in lateral and medial movements
·         Ultra-light sockliner delivered in shoe; additional Comfort sockliner in box

In South Africa, Oupa Manyisa, Daine Klate and Tlou Segolela of Orlando Pirates are some of the leading adidas adizero f50 icons who wore the new adizero f50 boot during their Telkom Knockout semi-final against Golden Arrows on Saturday.

Telkom Knockout – Can history repeat itself?

The Telkom Knockout Cup between Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates will be played at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on 10th of November 2011.

Can history repeat itself, can lightning strike twice in the same place? You tell me Orlando Pirates supporters.

It was exactly 16 years ago, in 1995 to be precise, when Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits last met in a Cup Final. It was the same competition but was known then as the Coca-Cola Cup.

Pirates, who were then coached by Mike Makaab, had just won the League Championship in the previous season & were favourites to win the trophy. The Ghost came from all provinces to witness what they expected to be a happy day of their lives.

Bucs could also boast that they single-handedly filled the stadium as the Clever Boys only arrived in two buses, one for the players and technical team while the other was for the university students.

Back then the Clever Boys boasted players like Peter Gordon, Lovers Mohlala, Steve Barker and Paul Evans. Bucs on the other hand boasted the likes of Marks Maponyane, Helman Mkhalele, Mark Fish and Williams Okpara but missed John Moeti who was on trial in Turkey.

The nail in Pirates coffin came from a free-kick in the first-half. Set-piece specialist Steve Barker curled a free-kick inside the penalty area where Nigerian Benson Otiti rose the highest to nod home, beating countryman Williams Okpara to put the Clever Boys ahead. Bucs tried their best to get an equaliser in the second-half, but it was not to be.

Will history repeat itself?

Top 5 reasons Pirates are the best

Hello Family, I got to say I’m sorry for staying away all day long as you know Sunday is a day for Parents to attend funeral society gatherings, I was there to represent my future as the future father of my son.

Top 5 reasons we are the best team in South Africa

1) We every game play with about 9 players in the field with a minimum of two players being a shadow of themselves, but we r unshaken and busy collecting Goods i.e. Isaac Chansa and Tlou Segolela were ineffective last night.

2) With the media and commentators always ruling us out, we always prove we are not champions by a fluke.

3) With Orlando Pirates supporters being the hardest to please, our achievements are totally amazing; I mean we all know we are impatient.

4) We always come back whenever we concede two even score a winner for a team most believe is coach-less.

5) According to maths, If Bucs won the league and if Barcelona won the league...

Then Pirates = Barcelona because they both won the league.

If West Ham United and Kaizer Chiefs never won the league, the two teams are equal for they are losers

adizero f50 miCoach Product Manager Q&A

Andreas Konrads, Senior Product Manager, adidas Football

Why was the adizero f50 football boot in particular chosen to feature miCoach technology?
Our aim is to make every athlete better. The f50 boot is engineered to make the fastest players in the world even better. The question was how to make them even faster and the miCoach SPEED CELL was the simple answer to that.  It helps players to analyse their performance and give them tips on how to become even faster, and we thought it would be great to offer our consumers the opportunity to compare themselves to the best player in the world, wearing this boot – Leo Messi.

miCoach has been used primarily in running, how can this now benefit a football player?
With the introduction of 360 degree speed and distance tracking, and the combination of on-board memory, we now move from it being a running / training device to an on-pitch performance monitor. We can now accurately track and analyze game data, simply and easily via a seamless integration into the new adizero f50 outsole. Professional football players have long had access to this level of performance data, we are now making this available to all consumers, to compare your game stats, and help guide you to becoming a better player.

What information does the SPEED CELL gather and what is the process?
The micoach speed sensor is an advanced accelerometer that tracks your speed and distance in all 360 degree directions. From this measurement, we are able to provide your max speed, average speed, time and distance in determined speed zones, as well as number of sprints.

How do you access the data the SPEED CELL collects and how can this be used to improve your performance?
The performance data is measured and then stored in on-board memory, and after the game is wirelessly transferred to your mobile phone or PC. The miCoach SPEED CELL uses ANT+ wireless data transmission in order to communicate with your phone or PC, which can then be viewed directly on your mobile phone handset, or viewed on your miCoach.com account.

What was the goal from a product and innovation perspective when developing the adizero f50 miCoach?
The goal was to build the lightest football boot possible, whilst at the same time, achieve perfect player acceptance, quality and performance. In addition, we wanted to bring the miCoach functionality to the shoe. Capturing your performance data during a game was possible only for professional players with costly equipment. Our goal was to make performance data accessible also for our consumers at an affordable price. The guiding principle for the miCoach functionality was to keep it simple, but fun to use.

What has been the testing process for the boot and which players have been involved?
The testing has been extensive. We had to come up with new testing methods, as it’s not only about testing a football boot, but also an electronic device and application where all these elements have to perform together as a system.  We brought in experts from the various functions and formed a project group to work on miCoach with a holistic approach.
We involved professional and amateur players and also tested the products ourselves.

What has been the feedback from players in regards to the new adizero f50 miCoach?
The players love the boot and are very excited about the new miCoach functionality. They can see that it opens new opportunities to understand their strengths and areas where to improve - and they are extremely curious to compare themselves to the best players in the world as well as their team mates!

Which players will wear the boot?
Leo Messi, Arjen Robben, Lukas Podolski, Thomas Mueller to name a few.

Having developed such an advanced boot, where does product innovation go from here?
We consider the miCoach functionality through SPEED CELL as an exciting first step into a whole new era of football. It will revolutionise the way football is analysed, trained, experienced and ultimately will help to make the players even better. We will continue to work on adding new digital functionalities to our products and are excited to bring more innovative miCoach products to our consumers.

Debate: Orlando Pirates camp

Zamile Educated-Thug Selepe says: Great it’s FRIDAY so let’s talk Jujus. We said Rudolf Bester is better as a striker and he should be switched off the wings right there, what can you now say because l Julio Leal did as you wished. Moving on, people said Thulasizwe Mbuyane is needed hence we were not so influential upfront, he did as you wished and omitted the equal useless Ndumiso Mabena. You sang the Mark Mayambela should be back song which the coach did, but still he is slammed for doing like you wished. We said Isaac Chansa is equally useless so he was indeed dropped. Can’t we just share the same responsibility? I mean somebody think of what I said, me not protecting the coach or whatsoever, I’m just outlining the truth. Honestly speaking, I don’t think the players like the coach thus playing crap for him to be dismissed. I just wish he resigns. Thugacation!!!

Rubza Mokabane Bhakania
Leal played Bester as a striker coz bester scores Two goals to his country if he dint score bester would have played as a wing so Leal is confused he don't know how to approach a game. Look he played Lucas Thwala; one game Lucas was not on his best Leal dropped him, he played Benson Mhlongo one game he was not on his best he dropped him, he played Mxoyona one game he was not on his best he dropped him again how many games a player must play to see him weather he can do a job, how many times Mayambela played rubbish but Leal continue giving him a chance we were playing OR Tambo but Leal never even border to call one of our left back to see him Leal is a rubbish The same problem we have last season Jele was suspended then we played Manyisa on that position what happen Ajax beat us 3 Yesterday he played defensive midfield on the left Mnguni what happen they beat us 3... Leal is not a best coach yes I like him to be a coach but Pirates is too big for him we got 3 Left back but he decided to play inexperienced player who is a midfield on the left. I beat Leal won't go anywhere trust me.

Zamile Educated-Thug Selepe
I can tell he is a good philosopher theorically and all that but maybe not a very good motivator, maybe he can be a good head of coaching elsewhere but as a coach, me afraid, he isn’t a straight talker, and on top of that we have Tebogo Moloi, we have no future going forward. Why is Rantie overlooked as well?

Swona Swavona
The coach has not control over his team, I don’t like Tebza in the bench first, the guy can turn players attitude, he frustrated Papic, Bester is no Pirates material, Chansa is no impact player Mayambela is, Mbuyane is a hard worker he do well when there is good support for him, Mbuyane and Chansa then bring in Mayambela for Chansa, they don’t like this, Leal and Tebza for it was Krol's approach! They want to destroy what Krol started, that’s why we in this mess, they must add to this it won a treble!

Rubza Mokabane Bhakania
Zamile, but take a note that Rantie is on loan to us next year he is going back to his team yes I agree Chansa should be dropped and again we lacking a wing whom he can deliver some cross you can't play Segolela and Mayambela both wings they like shoe shine no deliver to players but if you play Mabalane he is experienced wing who can create goals also.

Gcina Prince
I don’t think Bester was bad. He scored though his goal was rightfully disallowed. It’s just that Mbuyane was not a good partner for him. He needs someone to stay in the box while he comes from deep in the middle, someone like Benni McCarthy. As for Mbuyane, I stile believe he is not a striker. Mayambela, I personally believe he had a good first half and created a few opportunities using his artistry. As for Chansa, he belongs in the bench or the stands.

Swona Swavona
Leal's appointment shocked me, I have to say! I still want to find something to make my heart to accept it; these losses are making it hard for him to win me on his camp!

Simelane Philani Simo
Guys I think Chansa should be given more game time judging on what he has done for us surely there is something in him. As for Mayambela I think he is beta as a super-sub. In many of the games we benefited from him he came as a sub. As for Bester I think the coach should have fielded him in the wing to give Rantie a run and Mayambela be give a chance the second half.

Zamile Educated-Thug Selepe
Well said guys so far, although I won’t stop the support, I lost patience and me hopeless, we can’t rely on Benni and Lekgwathi only, and do we have quality players? Or just a strong starting eleven and a few good players and a bunch of useless players?

adidas launches adizero f50 - The World’s First Football Boot with a Brain

adidas unveiled the world’s first intelligent football boot, the adizero f50 powered by miCoach.  Soon to be made famous as the ground breaking ‘football boot with a brain’, the 2011 adizero f50 is bringing smart technology to the field of play.

Football is faster than ever before and the need for speed has never been greater. Now powered by miCoach, the adizero f50 is not only the fastest boot on the planet, it is also the smartest. miCoach turns the adizero f50 into the ultimate digital training tool by letting you track and upload performance data including speed, maximum speed, number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels and time.

The adizero f50 boot includes a cavity in the outsole unit which houses the revolutionary miCoach SPEED_CELL™. The miCoach SPEED_CELL™ captures 360° movement and measures key performance metrics including speed, average speed (recorded every second), maximum speed (recorded every five seconds), number of sprints, distance, distance at high intensity levels, steps and stride rates. The on-board memory stores all your measurements during your game or training for up to seven hours and then wirelessly transmits the on pitch performance data to your tablet, PC or MAC.

The stats can then be shared with friends on Facebook, introducing a fun and competitive edge to training as stats can be compared between each other, or even with adidas professional players such as Leo Messi, as they upload their personal results. The stats can also be uploaded to existing training plans via the miCoach website, which are then built into personalised coaching programmes that miCoach technology creates specifically for a user.

And the revolution continues in 2012 when you will be able to play the miCoach football video game online using your own real-life abilities. Whether online or in the stadium, the adizero f50’s electrifying, speed-inspired looks will leave zero doubt as to who is the fastest.

adidas Vice President of Global Football, Markus Baumann said “We have been working to develop a boot with a brain for some time and what we have produced will revolutionise the football industry. What makes the boot unique is that for the first time you will be able to compare yourself to some of the best players in the world’’.

The launch of the adizero f50 also heralds an exciting new stage of development for miCoach technology.  miCoach technology has always proved adidas’ position as market leader in the use of data in sport to enhance athlete performance and the introduction of miCoach in the adizero f50 clearly demonstrates the capabilities of capturing and evaluating every athlete’s performance by making it available to all. “Data has been monitored and evaluated to increase performance in elite athletes for many years. adidas will now bring this service to the consumer, firstly with the launch of the adizero f50, and then through a further range of intelligent products capable of storing, monitoring and evaluating performance on the field of play” commented Simon Drabble, Director of Interactive Technology at adidas.

The adizero f50 includes other key adidas technologies including Sprintweb, which provides stability during high speed movements, Sprintskin, a revolutionary single layer synthetic for incredible ball-feel and reduced weight and Sprintframe, which uses geometrics and a new stud construction to offer the perfect balance between lightweight and stability. The adizero f50 is also lightest in class, weighing in at only 165g.

The new adizero f50 powered by miCoach will be available at adidas own retail outlets and specialist stores worldwide from November in high energy / electricity / white and black / warning / electricity at €210. Additionally, the adizero f50 miCoach bundle is available from wholesale outlets at €245 and includes a pair of adizero f50 boots (in colorways as before), a Speed Cell™ and a smart device dongle miCoach CONNECT for iPod and iPhone as well as the miCoach CONNECT for PC / MAC.

Rule Amakhosi out at your own peril

What I've learnt about our Premier Soccer League is that it has got surprises; it's unpredictable and very interesting hence one need to be calm till the last 5 games. Just last season it was decided on the last 5 minutes, on the 80th minute no one new where the league was heading.

It's shocking to hear some people ruling out a team currently seating on third position. Do you really think SuperSport United will have it easy till the end of the season? What does history tell us about Mamelodi Sundowns? Do you really think Kaizer Chiefs will play like this till the season end? Rule Chiefs out at your own peril.

We should be collecting points as early as possible, I won’t deny that, and currently we ain't playing well, I won’t deny that too. But I would like my team to stay right there, closer to log leaders, because when we peak I don't think it will be a temporary thing, we will rise till we lift it.

I wish I could multiply myself to fill the stadium to give my support to the boys, something which they really need now.

The Eight Nations Tournament

The Eight Nations Tournament (CAF U-23 Championship) is a big tournament. It is time that we show our patriotism by fully supporting the under 23s, however at times patriotism needs to be instilled, in order to instill patriotism, our national broadcaster - South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) must ensure that they fully market this kinds of tournaments to the South African public at large (i.e. white and black / rich and poor / five year olds / women etc).

It is of no use for the young lions to be at war without the nation’s knowledge. The manner in which our national teams are treated leaves much to be desired, especially the manner in which their games are marketed to the public.

The SABC must ensure that all the games in the Eight Nations Tournament are broadcasted. For once South African Football Association (SAFA) and SABC do your part.

We (South Africans) hope that the issue of broadcasting of the national teams was discussed at the highly publicized sports indaba.

Pirates mustn’t rush youngsters cos of fans

Mxm hayi suka I’m not sure if some of the comments people write are personal or I really don’t understand them.

What has Mark Mayambela got to do with Orlando Pirates’ defeat on Saturday against Bidvest Wits?

What is it that Sibusiso Mnguni did wrong at left back that cost us the game? What is it that Julio Leal did to make us lose?

What is it that Tokelo Rantie has done to deserve such praise from us (Orlando Pirates supporters) hayi khona Mabhakhaniya. Rantie was brought by the Orlando Pirates management, we didn’t even know him; they are slowly introducing him into the team and yet people want him to start all games manje.

There’s not a single Pirates player that played well against Wits. It was one of those days where everyone had a bad day in the office just like last season’s game where we were beaten by Ajax Cape Town 3-0; everybody played bad on that game.

We were all happy with the starting line-up and all of a sudden Leal this and Leal that. Mnguni played as a left back last week and he did very well and now all of a sudden Leal did a wrong decision mxm!!

When Pirates were playing Moroka Swallows at Orlando Stadium I was there at the stadium and we didn’t even know who he was, we just saw number 42 on and 30 out. Pirates will be playing Ajax Cape Town at Orlando Stadium and I’ll be there. I watched Saturday’s game on TV, the whole Pirates team played badly and it’s wrong to single out one player cos the whole team played badly.

Leal cannot throw in Rantie now in the starting eleven, Pirates is a big team and do you know that at Pirates two mistakes in a game can kill that boy’s career? At Pirates how many youngsters have we killed because of that?

Where’s Excellent Walaza, where is Lebohang Mokoena, what is happening with Bongani Ndulula? Have you ever seen Pirates supporters booing Ndulula at Orlando Stadium? Have you ever seen Pirates supporters booing Thulasizwe Mbuyane at Orlando stadium? YES these guys they get booed after two mistakes in a game, people must leave the Pirates technical team to introduce this boy slowly and correctly otherwise he will be killed by supporters.

Nike's new Mercurial Superfly Available in SA

Following the launch of the new Nike Cristiano Ronaldo signature boot, the CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III, last Thursday, Nike confirms the boot is available in local retail this week.

The CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III (3) signature boot mirrors the performance and style Cristiano Ronaldo embodies with a disruptive graphic treatment on the left and right side of the boot.

As CR moves into position or tracks back the left side of his boot reveals a subtle pinstripe effect with a clear screen and pattern treatment.  In contrast, the right side features a bold contemporary stripe of Mach blue and Solar red which is a signature color theme throughout the collection.

CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III features an adaptive traction system that provides extra grip, traction and responsiveness to ensure one of the fastest players in the world capitalizes on the tightest of scoring opportunities.

The CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III is available at leading retailers, and retails at R2999.95.

Which PSL team should sign Pelembe?

Mamelodi Sundowns is caught between a rock and a hard place. They have only one option on their table. Its either, they sell Elias "Domingues" Pelembe during December Transfer window or else he is going to be a free agent player who is allowed to negotiate with the team of his choice beyond December.

The chances of Pelembe renewing his contract is very slim as the negotiations with Sundowns are still hanging without any promising movement. Reports of interest from other Premier Soccer League teams are surfacing with the Treble Champions Orlando Pirates leading the race for his signature.

To me, the move for Pelembe away from Sundowns is not about money but winning some silverwares. He is a talented played with array of eye-pleasing and mouth watering skills coupled with good ball techniques but his personal cabinet lacks more silverwares whilst Sundowns lacks the oomph to compete for silverwares.

Which team in the Premier Soccer League can complement Pelembe’s style of play? Where do you want to see Pelembe playing for in the next PSL season? Time will tell!

Let’s go back to our basics of diski

Our current FOOTBALL IS RIGID AND IS CHARACTERISED BY CONFUSION RATHER THAN UNDERSTANDING. I really cannot find it in my stomach the amount of goalless draws or the low number of goals in our games… our game is too defensive... there’s too much caution.

One really needs to look at the basis for this lack of goals, and I SAY the fault is NOT with our players but the area of blame lies with the COACHES and MEDIA.

Our coaches, by 'our' I’m referring to any individual coaching in South Africa, native or otherwise, have adopted or are trying valiantly to enforce the European approach in our game, both tactically and technically.

For example, the tactical formation of one striker is ineffective for 'diski'... you look back at the days of Fani Madida, Shane McGregor, Daniel Mudau / Raphael Chukwu, Collins Mbesuma / David Radebe, Sibusiso Zuma / Siyabonga Nomvethe, etc, then you realise that, a twin combination is deadly and effective in South Africa.

Then technically, we’ve killed our flair, our sole strength, by trying to play this direct European football… flair players bring creativity when coached effectively, ask the late Scara Ngobese, Doctor Khumalo, Jabu “Shuffle” Pule, Alex Bapela, Thulani Serero, Zane Moosa etc... but we are throwing that away.

The problem is that our media is vocally criticizing our own identity, in that process making us feel inferior about our type of football...every Tom, D!ck and Pitso Mosimane, will brag about a Uefa A coaching licence, forgetting that those courses were created with a concept of coaching an European mentality...

We do have an identity, whoever claims we don’t, is simply fooled by our incompetent and misleading media... let’s go back to basics of our football and we shall reap the rewards.

Stoichkov to replace Leal at Pirates?

The other thought of me is wondering if the players are not intentionally performing Julio Leal out.

I mean it’s just a thought, but let somebody consider that it is said there is divisions in camp while assistants are at logger heads.

I believe Leal is a good tactician kind of coach with a lot of knowledge but the players minds are average to digest his instructions.

I’m afraid he can’t stick to the basics but high educational tactics, with that said, he is a good soft person... but a perfect coach for Orlando Pirates?

I just pray he resigns soon. He is still having my support but me afraid my support won’t make any difference result wise. This is just my opinion, me not pushing any agendas or something; don’t be amazed to hear Hristo Stoichkov as his successor although Kosta Papic is who I recommend.

Gone are the days Chiefs was the best

Mabandla Luphondo says: Gone are the days of Dr Khumalo and Ace Khuse, now we are faced with the reality of playing a goal-less draw with the likes of Santos and we should be grateful. We are not playing like a championship team that is said to be big in South Africa. These days we struggle to beat the likes of Santos who are finding playing us easy, in short *we do not have players that will win us the 2011/12 Premier Soccer League trophy*

Rudolf Lucan Mnisi
We will never win games if will carry on playing like this even kasi players can play better then this we need plan in attract football is all about planning and as player u need to think when u hold the ball plus we lack accuracy that's why South African football won't go any where, we need accuracy, fitness plus to balance our players it seems like our players are week they need to train hard and be fit plus increase their rate of accuracy.

Khayalethu Liwalala
Let's be honest here guys, when last did we saw a consistent Kaizer Chiefs squad that plays week in and week out? That means we have a big problem with the coach, he doesn't know who to put up in his starting11,I'm saying the coach must be fired, there is no even hope that we will rise with what this V-V is doing, its high time chiefs found a new manager and coach finish and klaar!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the coach and/ players...we just had to finish Santos before they even plan to come back and we couldn't... cos they were much better than us toward the end of second half... and again there are no excuses, I'm no sure if Yeye has been up to scratch-his performance was below par, failing to make those defence splitting passes, if we had either Yende or Baloyi in the first half we might have counted something...Slowly but surely we getting there… Rise Khosi Rise!!!

William Mahabuke
Poor performance, it sucked and made me want to throw up. I regret wasting my time watching such a dismal performance. We don’t have anyone who wants to carry the team upon his shoulders and bring that football intelligence because for me its lacking big time. As for Sweswe and Isaacs, it’s only a matter of time before we really become exposed due to their indecisiveness, they never seem to be in charge and in command in the centre back. I don’t see us lifting the much anticipated PSL if the players don’t pick up their socks and raise the bar.

Wayne Accre Mgiba
If you a Kaizer Chiefs supporter you must know that you are in a relationship and expect to be heartbroken and stressed big time… and oh one last thing you will loose weight like seriously, there’s nothing wrong with the coach, but he just runs out of ideas sometimes, and why can’t we buy quality players? The boat is sinking in the middle of the ocean where no one can rescue us, but only God can, let’s pray Khosi fans God will answer our prayers.

Tembaletu Holomisa
Kaizer Chiefs players are lacking commitment and responsibility especially in front of goals, good lineup to vv but there is something wrong with the players in fact the whole seems to be slowly sinking, Mr. Motaung do something about this ill discipline of the team starting from your son down to the players yeses.

Don Thandanani Buthelezi
We are getting used to these disappointments now and if we try to raise our concerns we are told that this is a family business. I said it before and I will say it again this VV guy is not taking Chiefs anywhere, the sooner he part ways with the team the better for everyone.

Sibusiso Sbudah Ntsele
Why stress yourself my brothers and sisters? We mean nothing to Motaung Family Chiefs cos it’s their business wena just watch the draw lose or win. You’ve got nothing to say cos it’s a family business and the Motaungs will do whatever they like with this team. I guess players also do whatever they like. We as supporters must just buy tickets and go to the stadiums and don’t make noise or comment about the game.

Mthandeni Ndlela
We won’t win matches by hoping to capitalise on opposition mistakes, we need to create our own opportunities by forcing our way through to the box. We also need a playmaker cos Shabba's heart is elsewhere. Maybe we should use Yende or Lebese. Baloyi also did well. Learn from Barcelona guys! And lets play our crosses low cos we fail with the high ones...

Zukile Mabusela
People please leave the Motaung family alone. They told you this is their family club and they will fire the coach when they want to. Just let the family go to the stadium and watch their team play like headless chicken. I've never seen such dom players and coach. They play with no structure. A player runs with the ball and not knowing what he wants to do with it. Once a player passes the ball he walks like saying I’ve done my part - a player that doesn’t know how to play without the ball and give the player with ball options. This team must get a new clever coach and players and also play all African games they qualify for, so they learn football in Africa and learn to be tough. Chiefs players including their bosses are lazy. There is no vision from top down. At list I can still enjoy football in watching the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City.

Orlando Pirates FC is a championship team

To our Chairman Mr. Irvin Khoza: Sir, here is what logic tells me: A team that languishes at number 8 at the December break cannot and will not win the league. So anyone who says to us that we should not worry because there are a lot of games is in fact undermining our intelligence.

I say this particularly because only the blind will not have realised by now that with the type of football we play, whatever it is called, there is not even a slight glimpse of potential for a winning team.

Well Mr. Chairman, one does not require to be a rocket scientist to follow this basic deductive reasoning to arrive at a conclusion that says, the Pirates team that we saw in the past four to five league games, will not (1) defend the league (2) win a single game in Africa and (3) win any of the remaining cups on domestic roster.

This Mr. Chairman means that for us, the Ghost, the season is over! Now tell me, given the status quo at the club, and taking into consideration all the comments on this wall above and others expressed in Churches, schools, offices, etc across the country, why must we go to the stadium?

The team is not only losing but playing boring football. Why must we renew or membership for next season? There is nothing at all to convince us that things will change for the better anytime soon. Why should we not fear being on the wrong end of the league table?

There is plenty of evidence to suggest that that may not be as far fetched as Leal and Co will want us to believe. So Mr. Chairman here are my recommendations but first, a prelude: when Kosta Papic tendered his "resignation" some of us warned that the consequences would be bitter. Indeed they were.

When Ruud Krol's contract was due to expire, I wrote that it would be a mistake not to renew it. The truth is Mr. Chairman, and you can ask any competent HR functionary, Hiring Krol was the best decision you had made in a long time. His professionalism and track record spoke volumes. Leal on the other hand is the exact opposite.

Recommendation: Bring in the changes now if you want to salvage something from the remainder of the season. Other teams play to just be in the Premier Soccer League, regardless of where they end up. It will be sad if Orlando Pirates joins that list of teams. Current FACTS suggest that's exactly where we are. To think and say let's wait and see is unacceptable.

Cristiano Ronaldo - CR7 Collection

CR7 Collection reflects Cristiano Ronaldo's distinctive style on and off the pitch.

For the first time, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature Mercurial Superfly boot, Nike is introducing a complete CR7 Collection blending the most innovative training and lifestyle products.

The CR7 Collection features a striking new CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III (3) signature boot mirroring the performance and style Cristiano Ronaldo embodies with a disruptive graphic treatment on the left and right side of the boot.

As CR moves into position or tracks back the left side of his boot reveals a subtle pinstripe effect with a clear screen and pattern treatment.  In contrast, the right side features a bold contemporary stripe of Mach blue and Solar red which is a signature color theme throughout the collection.

Together, the boot graphics will create a striking flicker effect on pitch to stand out in the heat of game day competition.

CR Mercurial Vapor Superfly III features an adaptive traction system that provides extra grip, traction and responsiveness to ensure one of the fastest players in the world capitalizes on the tightest of scoring opportunities.

Directionally positioned blades maximize cutting and allow for quick changes of direction, while secondary toe traction provides added toe-off power for those first critical steps to generate explosive speed.

Collectively, these design details allow greater speed and quickness in all directions. The second generation of Nike Flywire technology incorporated into the boot’s streamlined upper provides a lightweight, strong and more dynamic fit.

Inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo’s love for premium white sneakers, his collection brings a new interpretation of the Nike5 Street Gato. Taking a new spin on the classic white in-line version, the Gato CR7 uses a rich color tone for a premium and distinctive look completed with a “7” graphic on the heel representing his playing number.

CR’s classic number 7 is also accented through training and lifestyle items. A distinctive t-shirt featuring 7 stripes across the chest comes in three different colors (white, red and blue) and is made of organic cotton. Special graphic and wash treatments give the V neck tee a touch of CR’s style.

The training top features a bold “7” graphic and both top and shorts are made of Dri-FIT ensuring comfortable and focused training sessions. Solar Red GS Polo, blue Aw77 Hoody and M65 jacket are also part of CR7 Collection.  The collection is rounded out with striking interpretations of the color thematic through a CR7 match ball, shin guards and back pack.

Sangoma 3 and Bafana Bafana 0

SAFA (South African Football Association) must pay the traditional doctor (sangoma) aka Sibonelo Madela or else we will not go anywhere – I mean Bafana Bafana!!! I had a one on one session with the traditional doctor and he told me SAFA owes him a lot. The engagement started before the start of the 2010 World Cup.

His medication (muti) was used against one player whom he confessed that the player will never ever find his magic feet again and whenever this player is selected Bafana Bafana. He asked what happened in Sierra Leone when he was chosen; he further asked me what happened when he played against Zimbabwe.

He further went to say the player has played over six games with Bafana Bafana without tasting any victory. The player changed clubs, but still not finding his magic feet. He played the opening games for South Africa during the Fifa World Cup and we tasted no victory when he was not selected against France we won.

He told me we will not qualify for 2014 World Cup plus for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations it will be an early exit!!! Rob Marawa must interview this old men from Kwanongoma as the nation deserve answers.

Bafana Bafana games:
Bafana Bafana 0-0 Sierra Leone
Bafana Bafana 1-1 Ivory Coast
Bafana Bafana 1-2 Zimbabwe
