THE LAB: How to build a football brain

Written By Unknown on Monday, May 9, 2011 | Monday, May 09, 2011

The most important component of modern day football is the BRAIN. The brain is only built through a process called learning, which is guided by a process called teaching.

Learning is something the brain is always doing every micro second & teaching is only used to make the learning process more directed and efficient.

In order for us to be able to teach a football brain we need to have proper understanding of the learning process. The biggest problem with the learning process is that it can inhibit itself from being constructive, for instance the biblical teachings of Galileo Galilei's time where inhibiting religious people from being able to understand the possibility of the world being round.

From Galileo's situation we can deduce that before we can start on building the football brain you have to understand what inhibits the learning process first and these inhibitors are of tern injected in us from society as psychological berries. People in general grow in a society that teaches them more about there weaknesses instead of strengths, so a result the brain inherits a lot inhibitors.

The biggest inhibitor is the belief that there is a different between a scientific mind & a creative mind, while in fact they are one & the same thing, as human we are born with both & are capable of learning anything we want to learn, society is just good at creating the illusion of being incapable.

In my planned Football Academy the first 2 months would be focused on rehabilitating the football brain & helping the players understand themselves as both artists & scientists, there will be no football related training.

I will be teaching players how to read and play music, and I will also teach them engineering based workouts like solving rubik's cube. As soon a players understand the fundamentals of the learning process & there limitless capabilities we will move into the next stage where we work of there passing abilities.

Prof Matwetwe
