United outsmart tough Arrows

Supersport United – 2
Golden Arrows – 0
• Supersport United defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday to move second in the ABSA Premier League. United’s goals come from Ellias Pelembe and Anthony Laffor. This was Arrows second loss in a row in the league after they suffered their first defeat in the hands of Amakhosi.

Stars fail to register vital win
Free State Stars – 1
Maritzburg United – 1
• Free State Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by a 10-man Maritzburg United at Goble Park on Saturday. Stars defender James Motola scored first for the home side, but Stars’ goal was cancelled by a late goal from Lebohang Kukane. The results didn’t help Stars as they remain in the danger-zone.

Thanda obliterate Stars
Platinum Stars – 1
Thanda Royal Zulu – 4
• Thanda Royal Zulu disgraced Plantuim Stars at their home ground (Olympia Park) with a whipping of a 4-1 win on Saturday night. Thanda wonder striker, Bernard Parker, was yet again in the making of things as he netted two goals for Thanda - and former Jomo Cosmos striker, Skosinathi Nhleko, also netted two goals for the Durban side. Stars only goal of the game was scored by former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Godfrey Sapula.

Chiefs suffer fifth loss of the season
Santos – 2
Kaizer Chiefs – 1
• Santos defeated Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at the Atlhone Stadium on Saturday to move away from the relegation zone in the ABSA Premier League. Santos’ goals come from Eleazer Rogers and Bonginkosi Macala. Ibe Zito Ogbonna scored the only goal for Chiefs. Mushin Ertugral is under pressure to produce results despite winning his last game against Golden Arrows. This defeat by Santos has added move worries to the Turkish mastermind coach.

Ajax take round one against Pirates
Orlando Pirates – 0
Ajax Cape Town – 1
• Ajax Cape Town defeated Orlando Pirates 1-0 at the Johannesburg Stadium on Saturday night to move top of the ABSA Premier League. Ajax’s goal come from Mabhuti Khenyeza. This game was a warm-up to the most anticipated Telkom Knockout Cup final this weekend. Pirates rested some of their key players who Rudi Krol will hope they’ll turn the tables come the final at Chatsworth Stadium this Saturday.

Sundowns dismal season continues
Mamelodi Sundowns – 0
Moroka Swallows – 1
• Moroka Swallows added more pain in Mamelodi Sundowns at Super Stadium on Sunday as they flew away with all the three points. David Rabede was the culprit who hurt the Sundowns faithfulz with an outstanding goal that left the new coach, players and fans stunned after the referee blew his whistle for full-time.

AmaZulu bamboozle Wits
Bidvest Wits – 2
AmaZulu – 3
• AmaZulu defeated stubborn Bidvest Wits 3-2 at the Milpark Staium on Sunday in their ABSA Premier League clash. AmaZulu’s goals come from Dumisani Ngwenya, Collins Chabalala and Brad Riston. Wits goals come from Clifford Mulenga and David de Oliveira. The victory by AmaZulu will take down the pressure from coach Clive Barker as his side move 10th in the league.

United and Celtic share points
Bay United – 1
Bloemfontein Celtic – 1
• Bay United were held to a duel 1-1 draw by Bloemfontein Celtic at Goble Park on Sunday. Celtic player Geofrey Sserunkuma scored from a penalty, but Celtic’s goal was cancelled by a late half time goal from Gareth Ncaca. The results didn’t help both United and Celtic as they remain in the danger zone in the Absa Premier League.
