Don’t throw the towel yet

Written By Unknown on Sunday, November 16, 2008 | Sunday, November 16, 2008

Hey guys - Unfortunately, injuries, the weather and the dreaded goal posts stood in the way of Bay United as they lost both their home match to Thanda Royal Zulu 2 - 1 and the weekend fixture against Amazulu 3 - 1.

On Wednesday a spirited fightback and a goal from the spot by Jimmy Zakazaka was not enough to hold onto the draw, in a match where rainy and windy weather spoiled a chance for Bay to play some good football. Also a groin injury to captain Duran Francis in the first half already put Umlilo on the back foot and with less leadership on the field, it was always going to be a struggle.

Saturday saw Umlilo constantly frustrated with the woodwork as they were denied two goals by the cross bar and uprights...A late goal by George Ngangqu was all that Bay United could salvage.

None the less, it is not time for us supporters to throw in the towel, this is the chance for us to show that we really are behind the team and that we care about staying up in the PSL...The next home game, is the 23rd against Ajax in East London, with the next PE game on the 7th December against Bloemfontein Celtic - We need to get behind the boys!

Watsha Umlilo
