Mamelodi
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was satisfied with a win against Polokwane City. The
coach confessed in the post-match press conference that it was a hard fought
victory.
“A
hard earned one, we fought. We survived. We had eleven players on the pitch, we
had seven on the bench, we made three subs and we finished the match and we
survived.”
“We
won the game against all odds. I'm ok with the win… we fought. The team showed
character. We wanted to win this game. We brought players, those who have to
come to the party, those who were substitutes in the game against AmaZulu… they
came in and help us.
Mosimane
cited forced injury as rationale behind fielding two defensive minded players of
Punch Masenamela for Rodney Ramagalela and Bryce Moon for Lebohang Cheeseboy
Mokoena.
“Two
forced substitutes again because people cannot continue. But we are surviving,
Sundowns got character, we are strong and we will still go on. We will keep
going against all odds.
“Is
not about how many points you get, we need to get as much as we can. Cheeseboy was
feeling the strain again on his hip... I had to save him and people think I'm
substituting him because I have too, the man is injured. The man hasn’t played football
for one year, but you know they don't care. They want a free flowing win.”
Mosimane
believes that his team will find the rhythm again when he has the full squad as
core of his team is out due to injuries.
“There
is a time where everyone will come back and we will be strong. God is with
us".
