The
Head Coach of Orlando Pirates Football Club, Roger de Sa has resigned
from club with immediate effect.
In
his resignation letter De Sa asked that his gratitude to the Chairman of
Orlando Pirates Football Club , Dr Irvin Khoza, for affording him the
opportunity of coaching a club of Orlando Pirates’ stature be placed on record.
“I will always be appreciative and I take
with me fond memories of my time at the club”, said Roger De Sa. “I wish
everybody at the club including the technical team, players and management
success in the future”, added De Sa.
In accepting the resignation, Dr Khoza
expressed his gratitude to Roger. Roger has achieved at Orlando Pirates more
that he did anywhere before. He reached three finals including the African Champions
League final. The last time Orlando Pirates reached the final of this
prestigious tournament was fifteen years ago.
“I know Roger would have loved to add the
second golden star to the Orlando Pirates logo. He now knows how to get there.
All that is left is for him to clinch it. A feat I have no doubt he will
achieve in his career as a coach”, said Dr Khoza. “Roger leaves Orlando Pirates
with an enhanced CV. I wish him well in his future endeavours”, added Dr Khoza
