AmaZulu FC release players

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 | Wednesday, May 22, 2013

As fitting with new changes every end of season the club placed eight players on transfer on Wednesday, 22 May 2013 to enable the technical team space for reinforcements in the squad for the upcoming season.

Goalkeeper Mbongeni Mzimela has been granted his wish of seeking a club of his choice due to lack of game time, as well as defenders Phumlani Mhamha, Luyanda Hlongwa and midfielders Stanley Kgatla and Nyiko Tshabangu have been placed on transfer.

AmaZulu General Manager, Peter O’Connor confirmed that youthful midfielders Andile Khumalo, Nkanyiso Cele and Dumisani Zwane will be sought loan deals to enable them more game time elsewhere.

“We had a serious chat with the directors and with the technical team, and clearly we’ve had to take some radical changes to plan ahead.

It’s one of those unfortunate things for some of the players but we believe these changes are necessary and we’d like to wish the players well,” said O’Connor.

Other players leaving the Usuthu kraal whose contracts will not be renewed at the end of June 2013 are midfield-cum defender Tsweu Mokoro and midfielders Ramson Zhuwawo, Kagiso Senamela, Joseph Malongoane and Bongani Mbele.

The contracts of veteran strikers Sifiso Vilakazi and Makhosonke Bhengu have been terminated with immediate effect.

Coach Craig Rosslee and his technical team will welcome new recruits Bret Amidu (Zimbabwean) and Sadney Urikhob (Namibia) for pre-season in 24 July 2013. Also coming into the fold is former Santos and SA U23 defender, Bongi Macala who has signed a two year.
