Platinum
Stars welcome Chippa United to the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace for their Absa
Premiership clash on Saturday (kick-off 15h00).
Dikwena
have kept alive hopes of a league and cup ‘Double’ this season after winning
through to the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup where they will meet SuperSport
United next month.
But
before then they have another three vital Absa Premiership matches, starting on
Saturday with relegation-threatened Chippa United.
Veteran
midfielder Benson Mhlongo has been a rock at the back for Stars this season and
he says the club’s success is down to the environment created by the technical
team.
“The
technical staff, the way they motivate us and the things they do for us, they
make the work environment a pleasant one for us," Mhlongo said. “There's
no pressure, you just go and do 110 percent and the rest will take care of
itself."
Stars
supporters can purchase their tickets for the Chippa game from the following
outlets: Mickey Geo Restaurant near the Rustenburg Taxi Rank, Lucky’s Pub in
Phokeng, Mmamothofela Restaurant in the Phokeng Complex, Kedasa Lodge in
Rasimone, Tlhabane Foro Spar.
Tickets
will cost R40.00 adult and R20.00 children.
“We
have the best home record of any team in the PSL this season and the players
have been excellent in providing quality entertainment. We have scored 31 goals
in 12 homes games this season, no other side can boast that many.
“Now
it is the turn of the fans to how their appreciation and come out in numbers
and get behind this team in what is one of the biggest moments in the club’s
history over the next few weeks,” Platinum Stars Supporters Co-Ordinator &
Media Relations head Aubrey Molobi said. “Chippa are fighting for their lives
at the bottom of the PSL table so they will give there everything. They have a
new coach too in Mark Harrison and players always lift their game a bit when a
new man is in charge.
“We
need to collect maximum points in all our remaining games to stay in the hunt
for a top two place and we need the people of the North West province,
supporters of all clubs, to get behind Dikwena and take us to glory.”
