Bafana
Bafana coach, Pitso Mosimane put to rest the 2012 Afcon fiasco and embarked on
the 2013 Afcon journey when he announced his 28-man squad for the Nelson
Mandela Cup Challenge on November 12.
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese,
Jomo Cosmos striker Siyabonga Nontshinga, Golden Arrows defender Musa Bilankulu
and Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Granwald Scott are the four new players that
have been called up to kick off the building process for the 2013 Afcon squad.
“The clash
against Ivory Coast
is aligned to our preparations for 2013 Afcon because the vision is now
different as we are hosting. So ideally, we would like to play the top-ranked
eight nations on the continent to give ourselves good preparation. We have
great belief that Cote
D'Ivoire will pose a very strong challenge
and that is what we need,” said Mosimane.
Meanwhile,
MaximalfFootball.com understands that Ivory Coast striker, Didier Drogba
may miss the November-12 clash to undergo surgery. The Elephants have called up
a strong squad which, apart from Drogba, includes Arsenal’s Gervinho,
Galatasarray’s Emmanuel Eboue, Manchester
City ’s Kolo and Yaya Toure and Chelsea ’s Salomon Kalou.
