SAFA is
simple exposing their foolishness further and the sad part is that their action
is also embarrassing the nation.
To quote
SAFA president and its CEO, “We are of the opinion that this particular rule
should be thrown out because it defeats the traditional way of determining a
log standing."
This
statement suggest SAFA honchos do not know what they are talking about, firstly,
the CAF rule in Article 14.01 is and has always been FIFA’s traditional way of
determining the log.
Maybe it
will enlighten them to also read UEFA’s Euro 2012 Regulations, specifically
Article 7.04 which is identical to CAF’s Article 14.1 secondly, SAFA leaders
need to know that if Premier Soccer League’s traditional way of establishing
the log is based on goal difference it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a
universally applied rule and lastly I think SAFA is currently headed by people
who do not have even a little atom of a football brain cell.
