Debate: How Sundowns lost R2.5 million - Enough is Enough NOW!!!

Written By Unknown on Thursday, September 22, 2011 | Thursday, September 22, 2011

Rudzani Maxwell Mamphiswana says: SUNDOWNS HAPPY TO BURN THEIR MILLIONS (Article on Sunday times Sept, 18, 2011) It talks about the Abysmal failure of Mamelodi Sundowns management to manage foreign quota that led to players like (Gbolahan) Salami who never kicked the ball for Sundowns paid and pocket R2.5 million to be released. Players such as Papi Zothwane and Koketso Mmotong are being paid lots of money accounting millions while sitting on the bench.

They say this is because of poor communication between Trott Moloto, management and technical team. They wrote that this is a Saga that might embarrass Patrice Motsepe as it will reflect like he does not care about his money and just throwing it around. Guys!! We have got a serious problem - if the big media is now writing something like this about our management? It means our team is in trouble more than we thought. Get the latest Sunday Times Newspaper and read the article, its damning embarrassing.

Eish Dawana, our team is in the hands of dogs. I can't believe that out of al the Sundowns supporters working in communications in different sectors, they couldn't find one and decided to give teh job to a Pirates man, this management is pathetic beyond imagination I tell you!!

Michael McSundowns
Thanks for the article Max... really this is an embarrassment to the supporters and the club as large. We have been saying this for the past I don’t know how many months now that the whole management system needs to be overhauled. Now the mistakes which Trott has been making over and over is coming back to haunt the whole management. I have forever advocated against buying players without having a coach... it's ridiculous to buy a player just because you like him whilst you're on the process of getting a new coach. It is a known fact gore a coach should be the one that decides which player to bring on board and to sign... not the "talent scout". Correct me if I’m wrong but a talent scout is suppose to search for talent and recommend it to the coach but what Trott is doing is the opposite... he's signing players without even talking let alone approaching the coach. This mentality should be done away with.

Micheal, Trott should be done away with!!

Rudzani Maxwell Mamphiswana
@ Michael, if these deals are worth millions, don’t you think someone is benefiting from all of them? These guys are just in the process of making money for themselves, they don’t care about the performance of the team as long as their pockets are full.

Michael McSundowns
@ Wonder... my point exactly Sundawana. He's the sole reason why our beloved team is known for wasting talent. Don't get me wrong... he's a good scout... he can spot a talent a mile away. But he should stop buying players for the sake of having them at Sundowns. He should buy players which the coach has agreed to be wanted or needing. How many years now has he been doing this thing?

Since Trott has been an advisor and a talent scout, we've been buying players left right and centre whilst we were still looking for a coach. We bought a handful of players while Motsepe was still in talks with Henri Michel and a lot of those players were loaned. It amused me how we managed to buy 7 players before even Hristo Stoichkov could set foot in South Africa, and what happened to the players that Trott bought?? The talent was wasted. We did the same with Antonio Lopez and as if we didn’t learn from those mistakes, Trott went again and repeated the same thing before Johan Neeskens could agree to take the reigns. Enough is enough... really now.

Neeskens should be Sundowns manager period!

Kunzima madoda....

@ Max... the thought has crossed my mind Sundawana... I think Trott is benefiting immensely from these shady deals. Have u notice gore a player on Sundowns' wanted list is more expensive compared to when it's on Chiefs, Pirates or any other PSL clubs' list? I think Trott is the one that puts a price tag on a player that has to join Sundowns so that he can milk a million or 2 from the deal.

@ Thaso... when we acquired Henri Michel... Motsepe and Trott himself stressed that they were looking for a manager and not just a coach. Motsepe said if we were to compete with the English football… it’s about time we get an overall manager and not just a coach and mind you... its very difficult (not impossible) to fire a manager than to fire a coach. Since both of them uttered those words, I was obliviously under the opinion that every other coach after Michel including Neeskens was/is a manager but now I’m realising gore that's not to be cos Trott is the Advisor, talent-scout, the CEO, PRO, the marketing manager, the coach, technical advisor, garden boy and a cleaner… all in one.

Mr. President promised that heads will roll but even today no head rolled. He promised to call a mass meeting before June but even today no meeting was called.
