Debate: It sadness me to read about Steve

Written By Unknown on Friday, September 23, 2011 | Friday, September 23, 2011

Mpho Mathye says: When I read about Steve Lekoelea it saddens me, he was Orlando Pirates' sweetheart; he was like Thabo "Tsikitsi" Mooki of Kaizer Chiefs. He was supposed to be a legend ya Pirates but no, he wanted to be a top earner above the coach, no one is above Pirates not even Teko Modise... our fallen star.

Delani Patrick van Maphela
Wrong advice lead to his downfall!

Aaron Khosa
These two dudes were my favourites! Tlou doesn't come close to the superstar status these two achieved... Another one for this list is the now struggling one time son in law to be Tso Vilakazi...

Mpho Mathye
I remember, when I was a kid my dad took me to da stadium for the first time, when the Steve had the ball lol I got scared lol but got the grove of it lmao, TSO is another case eish

Thabelo Khiba
Ha o swenkela Bhakaniya, you will never come alright, ha o swenkela Irvin Khoza, you will never come alright, singing. Steve, just like Tso ke moiketsi, ha ba lleloe.

Mpho Mathye
Pirates is top of the food chain, there is nothing after that.

Tlhone Ralph Raphasha
These players must learn that Pirates is an institution, Jomo Sono came and he is gone, Kaizer Motaung came and he is gone, Lekoelea came and he is gone, Vilakazi came, and he is gone, Dukuduku came, and he is gone... Pirates makes Stars shine, not the other way round, the current crop of players should understand that... Pirates will still be there even in millenniums to come... NEVER EVER THINK THAT YOU ARE ABOVE PIRATES.

Thabo Juju Mabando
Juju is not a one man team, its management, coach, players, technical most of al us supporters jujus!

Asivhanzhi Muruge
Steve Lekoelea was fighting for his rights and is just that he did not follow right channels, mind you our Chairman is not always right or fair in some decisions - Lekoelea was from a very poor family and he was still a school boy so some people took advantage of that Steveeeeeee was a crowd puller everywhere Pirates played.

Tlhone Ralph Raphasha
Asivhanzhi muruge I still maintain that players should come to Orlando Pirates knowing that they are not coming to a family entity like Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates is an institution, You are afforded a commodity of maling it big, you must never think that you are bigger than the Institution! Bennedict Vilakazi was popular! Teko Modise was popular, Gift Leremi (RIP) was popular, Lebogang Mokoena was popular with the Ghost, their Era has come and is gone... there will always be individuals who come as brands, But they must know that PIRATES is an INSTITUTION.
