Mzansi players must be educated: Part2

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 | Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Today we are rejoicing our 500 stories in Diskioff. I just want to say it’s with excitement and hard commitment from everyone! Again siyabonga Diskioff readers!!!!

Like I said in my yesterday’s article that players need to be educated not only play soccer. I like what Dr. Irvin Khoza is doing at Orlando Pirates with the players. He makes sure a player from development is equipped with education and business ideas.

It’s so painful to see your hero become your zero. Let the players be alert and know that soccer is short career. I like what “Zane Mgidi Zane” once said to me, he said, “he enjoyed his soccer career and it was time to equip himself with education.”

As much as he loved soccer, he also loved education. Please diski players try to study while playing at least. Look at Jimmy Tau, he is studying while playing. Soccer is meant to relax you and make you enjoy.

Let’s enjoy soccer while we are learning. Mzansi is full of potential and dreams are made reality to dreamers. I hope you’ll take my advice as I love you people!

There’s enough diski in Mzansi and we are…

That was the debate between Booker T. Washington and W.E Dubois. True enough we must all seek education as much as possible but then we must also realise we need to rely on what our hands can produce. Some of us have that book knowledge and some of us need to use some tools. We must be cautious not to preasurise people into doing something that is not going to help them. I know several guys who went to some of the best universities overseas and cannot find a job. Book knowledge has their pride believing they cannot work at a fish and chips to feed their children untill they can be hired as CEO'S. I know a man whose credentials in South Africa is second to none yet we have fabricated everything to keep him out of a possible national president candidate. On the other hand President Zuma is not so book smart but has great leadership skills. Untill we teach our kids that popular as soccer may be the world of sports is too vast. We cannot just simply keep all our eyes on soccer that will not be a balanced life. Good morals is the key, many young people make it to stardom before they can mature and that is too big price to pay later in life. We are a unionised nation and hence these kids make too much money than their heads can afford to handle. They drive kids that old hard working man can only afford close to retirement age and this creates an illusion that things will always be like this. We must also be catious not to turn PSL into a social walfare the goverment has those resources available. Let us all enjoy sports in general and let other players play their roles. Parents need to parent effectively, teachers need to teach with passionate compassion, Civics need to engage their communities with vibrancy, Atletes must be multyminded, fans must be relaxed and cheer with a smile and people in business must be driven by service and not greed. We have too many casualties to mend partly because we focus on one thing and neglect the rest.

We have done evrything ever since entering our over 15 years into democratic development. We have built house on the hills, we have boats in our docks, we have somany goodies and yet we have forgotten one thing in our shopping spree. Untill then will keep on limping and never getting there. Keep grazing here on this site I might share some light.
