Mzansi players are big headed

Written By Unknown on Thursday, November 6, 2008 | Thursday, November 06, 2008

It’s a weekend of Champs and it’s the Telkom Knockout Cup. I wish all the teams who are playing in semifinals a GOOD LUCK and may you achieve what you hope to achieve.

Ok back to business, it’s that time of writing something for Diskioff readers, thanx guys. Diskioff is nothing without you baf’wethu and sistas.

This week I want to talk about the above mentioned heading. Yes our league is now competitive and very interesting yet I have been watching some of the players in our league. You I started seeing that Mzansi players when they are playing for small teams, they play their heart out and so want to prove themselves.

The problem with these players is, when they play for top PSL teams, they tend to become lazy and demanding more money. Ok some may say they are under a lot of pressure as the lot is expected of them but when playing soccer there’s always a pressure.

I know competition is there, but players need to know the importance of wearing the team’s jersey, walk in the stadiums and playing there. For example Celtic fans don’t have a favourite player but loves every player who wears the jersey… and that’s why if you don’t play well, they become angry and frustrated.

I think it’s about time these big headed players and under performing players to be demoted and feel the shame of wearing the reserve side jersey or better yet release them.

Look at what Barcelona did with Samuel Eto and other players; they wanted to release him coz he was under performing and thought he was a star. Look at him now and look at players who want to play 4 the team and knows the importance of wearing the jersey, players like Borjan, Messi, and others.

These players know the importance of being a Barcelona player. Mzansi players need a wake up call and know that soccer aint about money, but pride and joy. Always know that you will never be bigger than the team because these teams were there before you and the will be even when you are gone.

I think its time players take the blame and be fired not coaches alone. We are not interested in how much you earn, but how you deliver. We love you guys!!!!

They have no heads, so how can they be big headed. Soccer is a very short career, you get in quick and get out quick. Some get there late and overstay. Big boys in competative leagues go in and out of teams to make real money. You never hear all the stories we read on news papers like Doctor Khumalo, Mandla Sithole, Jabu Pule, Mbulelo Mabizela and the list is endless. Yes people are people and anything can happen. Untill our players learn from Jomo and Kaizer they will not go anywhere. We will always have another Quinton ending at Chloorkop, Nomvete ending in Dube and Benni ending who knows where. Jomo and Kaizer took the money they made overseas and started teams and hear they are today shining. Their families went without for our benefit and it is paying off. We know have a number of the Motaungs playing active role in South African Soccer. Bamuza is undergoing a critical mentoring and he will soon come forth. Itumeleng Irvin Khoza is emerging even greater as mentored by his visionary Daddy Dr. Col Khoza. These gentleman have sacrificed all the way, today we hosted Confederations Cup and next year we have the world cup.

Had guys like Mark Williams, Phil Masinga, Shoese Moshoe, Thomas Madigage,Helman Mkhelele, Sibusiso Zuma and the list is getting longer by day. Had they all come home and behaved like their leggends we will be way above the best leagues. No these boys they finally come back home and try to foster some retirement money. We wouldnt be having teams like Bay United FC holding a sign on a street corner "will work for food"

Lets get better Sons

"SAVE KAIZER CHIEFS CAMPAIGN"

We call upon a sports loving people nationwide and beyond across various sporting codes to help save one of South Africas soccer giants. We have somehow got accustomed lately to loose players by way of road accidents just to mention a few players like "slow poison" Lesley Manyathela and "Vumvum" Gift Leremi. Alongst those trenches of loos we have lost Steve Lekelea, Mabizela,Jabu Pule Mahlangu, Vilakazi, Mgomeni, Ndlanya and many many more.

However, Wits, Cosmos and Amazulu have gone to first division and came back. But Kaizer Chiefs seems highly determined to go the junkyard. Never in the history of South African Soccer has Chiesf been under performing. Recent results are too much substandard of the Chiefs that we know. If Chiefs end up at Vodacom that will mean no derby in the real sense of South African Soccer. Least we forget that Chiefs is also a major board founding member of PSL.

I plead that Kaizer be granted the South African Coach he really wanted but due to some commitments of that coach. Amendments are meant for such instances also. If we get Kaizer those two coaches then will have turned the pendulum of victory. Chiefs has a great history and vision. Deep in their planing they are heading back to the mountains where whence they come, the Magaliesburg Mountains where they will eat plenty of meat by themselves. So we cannot afford a disconnetion in Kaizers dream. Think of ACE, Dhladhla, Rider, Manyathi, Molatedi, Malombo, Madida, Shane, Torvey, Abel Shongwe and more. Its time we put aside the enternet mud slinging and show Chiefs some love and peace. Its high time we tells Chiefs that we love them too much to let them slide away. Remember when Pirates had to go down the drain, Kaizer changed rules and Pirates as our Fathers Team was allowed to stay in the league. This is the team Kaizer came from and he still has plenty of love for it. That is where he learned his professionalism. On the converse had Kaizer stayed at Pirates we would have lost what Kaizer Chiefs FC has become over the years. This must not happen, we let Swallows slide and many Swallows fans have emigrated to Pirates, Cosmos and a little at Sundowns and the rest have quit soccer entirely.

If you love Chiefs honk three times!!!

Fired up, ready to save Chiefs
