The groovy week that was

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 | Tuesday, November 11, 2008

The past weekend was quite interesting for Mr. Know it All, firstly I spent the weekend listening to some of my most favourite songs of all time and as usual following the happenings in my favourite sport as well.

Now, the songs I listened to, sort of reminded me of everything in our football, firstly I got to hear that Kaizer Chiefs have decided not to offer Jabu Mahlangu a contract, I can imagine Bobby Motaung singing “udakwa njalo” by Mafikizolo to our dear JJ as he was declining to offer him a contract.

The PSL elections have come and gone, and yes, Dr. Irvin Khoza is the Chairman, and the anthem to that must be Mandoza’s Nkalakatha, and Thebe’s lenyora. Irvin is the absolute king, even the little strike organized by the NFD teams turned out to be exactly that, little. Irvin is inkalakatha straight, it seems to me, it is only at the time when he wants to step down, and will he step down.

Swallows players were threatening Pirates with revenge the whole week in almost all the publications I read, reminding me of my school days of “after school is after school”, come Saturday, they were outclassed completely, reminds me of “klaimer” by chiskop. Moneeb Josephs was at it again, he must have been singing “I am bad” by Wacko Jacko, cos of the wack hairstyle and the very bad goalkeeping.

The new Downs coach Henry Michel is in the country, for those who don’t know, Mr. Motsepe is in the mining business, specifically gold mining, you may know the Kanye West / Jamie Foxx classic titled Gold digger, I am not saying Mr. Michel is a gold digger but he aint going for a broke nig*&%. He is joining the Downs team whose players were reported in some media circles as very unhappy with the toilet facilities at Chloorkop, silly if you ask me. Where is Trott by that way is he “leaving on that midnight train to development”?

How old were you when Brandy and Monica belted out the teeny bopper hit “the boy is mine“, that song was top of the charts for so long just like the Mthembu saga, the boy is mine, both Chiefs and Pirates claim, then the boy seemingly is confused as he is being reported to be wanting to go to Parktown, shame poor mashamplane. Maybe the appeal should rule that whoever wins the derby can keep him. Not.

Mr. Manqoba Mnqgithi proclaimed that his team was the best in the PSL currently, well he did not bank on that well oiled machine called AJAX Cape Town, now he is singing “end of the road” made famous by Boys to Men, after being kicked out of the Telkom Cup.

It’s not just him though, Sandile Mchunu is singing the same song after leaving Football Arena, David Thidiela is singing the same song after failing to make it to the PSL executive committee.

No song can even begin to capture the comedic game between Supersport and Celtics, three of the four goals were own goals, Ridiculous.

Lastly, Dikgang Mabalane is the best signing for Pirates this season hands down, this boy reminds me of Zamajobe’s “ndawo yami”, he has made that wing position his and is playing very well and it is nice to see a player who can express himself for once.

This week Seema will not be singing his favourite track by Anita Baker “I apologise”, he should lend that CD to Moneeb.
