These
guys (Bafana Bafana) don't have patriotism. They don’t play like it is their
last game, no passion for soccer. Most of our players only see football as a
meal ticket. Something just to do in-order to drive a nice car and sleep with
beautiful women and build their mothers nice houses.
Have
you ever heard a South African saying their dream is to play in the World Cup
or win the CAF Champions League? The answer is NO!
If
you read soccer websites the most common answer when these players are asked what
their dream is; “I want to play overseas.” Never about winning cups and being
amongst the best. Ask any Brazilian footballer what their dream is and most
will tell you they want to win the World Cup.
It
is the players; they lack ambition and are just happy to earn money from
participating. Dean Furman has brought the spirit of wanting to win at all cost
and hence he shouts at his teammates for underperforming. Ruud Krol did the
same with Orlando Pirates. That's why Steven ‘Schillo’ Pienaar quit.
As
someone who has played Rugby, I can tell you winning is everything and we were
taught this as kids and hence our Rugby teams win almost every international
tournament from junior ranks all the way to the senior teams.”
