Senior
management from MTN will select the winner at the stadium at each game. The
winning female football fan will be announced at half time including a
presentation of a cheque. The social responsibility element of the competition
is in line with MTN’s vision that football must leave a legacy amongst the
communities in which it operates.
“This year, we continue our efforts to go the
extra mile to connect fans with their passions by bringing not only R8 million
in amazing prizes but also continuing to stage incredible MTN8 Wafa Wafa
experiences,” says Brian Gouldie: Chief Marketing Officer at MTN SA.
“In
the spirit of Women’s Month of August, we encourage fanatical female supporters
to come to the stadiums clad in unconventional fan gear. The best dressed
female supporter of the day will take all the winnings, in line with the
winner-takes-all theme of MTN8 Wafa Wafa, to share it with her charity of their
choice.”
“As
South African football fans are among the most colourful supporters in the
world,” we want to continue rewarding female fans that come in numbers to
support football in colourful ways while supporting a worthy cause,” Gouldie
concludes.
