The
Nestlé MILO Champions Tournament is not just about developing the soccer skills

formative years about the benefits of leading healthy and active
lifestyles. We are extremely proud of
how serious these children take the sport and the tournament itself, and the
positive impact it is having on their lives,” says Kelly Wainwright, Nestlé
South Africa’s Category Marketing Manager for Dairy.
Tlhakanang
Primary School will receive R10 000 to invest in an initiative which is in line
with Nestlé MILO’s values of Nutrition, Health and Wellness. They will be able
to use these funds to improve the sporting facilities or buy sporting equipment
for their school. The winners of the
National Finals in September will receive a further R150 000.00 and go on to
represent South Africa at the MILO African Championships in 2014.
“Youth
development through sports is one of the biggest means of positively impacting
and inspiring the lives of young South Africans. It is a dream come true for
all of us at SASFA and at Nestlé MILO, to see how far the tournament has come
as we commemorate its sixth year of existence. We congratulate Tlhakanang
Primary School for their exceptional performance at this year’s Gauteng
Provincial Final and we look forward to welcoming them to the National Final in
September this year” says Mandla ‘Shoes’ Mazibuko, President of the South
African Schools Football Association.
