Platinum
Stars have lined up a series of top level friendlies as they prepare for the
new season, starting this weekend with a meeting against fellow Absa
Premiership club, University of Pretoria (Tuks). The practice match will allow
the players to start working on their match fitness as the start of the new
season approaches.
Stars,
whose performance last season marked the club out as a powerful force in the
league, will move the site of their training from their headquarters at Phokeng
to Johannesburg next Wednesday. On Saturday, July 20, Dikwena will play a mini
tournament in the City of Gold along with Bidvest Wits, Mpumalanga Black Aces
and SuperSport United. The matches are closed to the public as the teams look
to experiment with combinations and tactics.
Stars
will have a further friendly against newly promoted Aces on Wednesday, July 24.
On July 27 the team heads to Klerksdorp, followed the next day by participation
at the Matlosana Mayoral Cup, where Free State Stars, Bidvest Wits and Golden
Arrows will be the teams they will face.
