I
really wonder which player will win the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Player of
the Year award because really I can't think of one nominee, let’s hear from you
out there my fellow football fanatics.
And
please let’s not say it should be the player from a team that wins the league
cause we know in South Africa it doesn’t work like that, recently we know who
won the title and who were named Player of the Season...
Itumeleng Khune – Well by far the
best goalkeeper in the PSL and South Africa’s number one man. Khune hardly puts
a foot wrong or let me say a hand wrong, the reason to Kaizer Chiefs been
number one in the PSL log with his excellent saves and commanding role.
Thuso Phala – He has been the
pillar of Platinum Stars most impressive season ever in the PSL, playing in
almost all their matches this season , called up to Bafana Bafana's squad and
done relatively well.
Oupa Manyisa – Taking over from
where he left off from the previous most excellent season "Ace"
rarely has a disappointing game, also almost played in all of Orlando Pirates
matches, even when Pirates are not at their best Ace has always shined amongst
the rest, Bafana call up did not get enough play time .He is a great passer and
controller of the ball link up well with the defence and attackers.
Reneilwe
Letsholenyane
– Well Kaizer Chiefs supporters will agree that Yeye is the best defensive and
offensive player in the PSL and this season he has been in the heart of every
Chiefs wins, good reader of the game, it was obvious when he got injured Chiefs
could not manage to turn draws into wins, but don’t know if he played enough
games to be named Player of the Year maybe Player's Player of the Year award.
Siyabonga Sangweni – Also Orlando Pirates
supporters will agree the best central defender by a mile in the South Africa. ‘Ntsimbi’
known by his supporters has been the heart and soul of Pirates impressive
defensive record, the star man to Bafana Bafana in AFCON 2013 scoring 2 vital
goals. Siya is not only excellent in the back by breaking the opposition play
he has a good nose for goals; pity like Yeye injury sidelined him.
Rowen Williams – Another goalkeeper
certainly the future Bafana Bafana's number one .The SuperSport United stopper
has shown great command and maturity this season also reason to why SuperSport doesn’t
usually loose games, with his great saves he just deserved to be in my list for
a Pl award.
Thabo Matlaba – Excellent complete
football player who has that rare skill of hitting the ball with equal power
with both his feet, Thabo has had an excellent season in Orlando Pirates on and
off season Matlaba a great left back who rarely loose the ball is always a
great attacking player who scored some of the greatest PSL goals, this season a
Bafana call up and a superb goal against Central African Republic recently gets
my nod for SA Player of season Award.
They
are not in particular order.

some of the players you mentioned do qualify, or compete! i do agree they did well but crowning them as player of the year would be more than overating their perfomances
