Platinum
Stars, Absa Bank and North West FM have teamed up to host a celebrity car wash
in raising funds for the Kutlwanong School for the Deaf on Saturday, 8
September 2012.
September
is Deaf Awareness Month and the club and their partners will be pledging their
shares to raise both awareness and funds needed for the Kutlwanong School for
the Deaf, the only learning facility in the North West Province that caters for
the hearing impaired.
The
event will take place at the Tlhabane GRTC (old BP Garage) from 10h00 to 18h00
and cars will be washed by players and officials from Platinum Stars, Absa
employees and DJs from North West FM.
It
will only cost car owners R50, and they will stand the chances to win match
tickets for the crunch Absa Premiership clash between Platinum Stars and
Orlando Pirates at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on September 15.
On
the day, one lucky car owner will also walk away with a complementary night
stay at the Five-Star Royal Marang Hotel, and be treated to all the luxury that
comes with that.
“The
car wash is a part of our decision to highlight the Deaf Awareness Month in
South Africa and we hope that people will come out in their numbers not only to
get their cars washed, but to meet the Platinum Stars players and
representatives from Absa and North West FM,” says Platinum Stars Supporters’
Co-coordinator & Media Relations head Aubrey Molobi.
“The
Kutlwanong School for the Deaf does an excellent job of helping the hearing
impaired in our communities to develop the skills to lead a fulfilling life
despite their disability. This is one of a number of initiatives Platinum Stars
have undertaken in the community and we continue with our promise to the people
of the North West that we will be active in helping to uplift the lives of our
citizens where we can.”
