I
heard a lot of supporters saying Orlando Pirates FC is greedy for signing a lot
of players and releasing few with the dominating complaint being that midfielders
are the one scooped in numbers.
With
Orlando Pirates being the team that has always been relying too much on
defenders and midfielders for goals, it is advisable to consider that striking
force hasn’t been our strong weapons in destroying the opponents and beside
that fact, we are the undisputed champions of everything thanks to the Pirates organization
as a whole.
It
can nice to see our striker winning the Golden Boot but pity with Pirates, the
team work comes first which is why it has been hard for our competitors to stop
us and i see no reason for us to worry too much on the striking force for our
back to back trebles were won without a striking force which was/is predictive
enough for recognition.
A
number of players in the team shouldn’t be an issue according me because the
many quality players we have, the more a coach is spoiled for choice and the
better chances of a healthy competition popping up just like a country's
national team whereby a coach chooses whoever he wants or most importantly
according to merit.
What
makes Pirates special is that we have a great team with a great team spirit
than individual match winners which is undoubtedly productive. We had players
who thought they were above the rest and they had to be released like Katlego
Mashego and Teko Modise for players of the same team shouldn’t see each other
as competitors but colleagues/family.
The
more players Pirates signs, the advantage it does to South African's economic drop
of lack of employment so let’s not be jealous that other people are getting
employed.
I
hope the coach manages the squad well.
