With
most big leagues edging closer to the finale... here are my championship
favourites.
Premier Soccer League... Mamelodi Sundowns...
pound for pound, they are the best in the country, playing entertaining
football with a lot of fluidity, even when they do drop points, it is not due to
poor displays but excellence of the opposition goalkeepers, e.g. Arthur
Bartman, Avril Phadi, Greg Etafia... if any team can stop Sundowns, it is Kaizer
Chiefs, and only Chiefs!
English Premier League... Manchester United...
bringing back Paul Scholes was a masterstroke from Sir Alex Ferguson, has experience
and winning mentality has already rubbed off on the youngsters, Manchester City
look unconvincing, they are winning, but they don’t look like they want it as
much as the red devils do...
Spanish La Liga... Real Madrid... even
Edmund would admit that it’s now mission impossible for the Catalans, the Galacticos
are cruising here…
German Bundesliga… Borussia Dortmund…
the champions are carrying on from the momentum they had last season, their
fast-flowing attacking football epitomises the current philosophy of German
football... Monchengladbach will fade away, Bayern look like a divided team, that
will cost them...
Italian Serie A... Juventus... the old
lady remains the only unbeaten team in top flight Europe, though Milan are at the
summit, Juve look better off in terms of form and psychological strength...
French Ligue 1... Paris Saint-Germain...
it’s tight at the top, but Montpellier and PSG are pulling away from the other
chasing pack, with good depth and an experienced coach, the team from the
capital should squeeze through...
