I
was prepared to give Julio Leal a fair chance but I've run out of patience. He
continually makes my team looks ordinary. With the quality he have we suppose
to be walking over the teams. During the pre-season we were playing flowing
futubolo and it was promising. Things changed when we played official games
fortunately the winning mentality was still there we bagged two major trophies.
Problem is... we were not convincing. Recently we won four league games in a
row but there's nothing to write home about except to be grateful for the 3
points.
1.
Our Coach is failing to bring the best out of his players.
2.
Our Coach reads the game differently thus end up making wrong subs.
3.
There's no player that has shown improvement under his guidance. Tlou Segolela
was once a feared winger but he's turned to be an ordinary player. Mark
Mayambela is in the fringes. Donna asked for transfer... the list is endless.
4.
Daine Klate started off badly this season, he picked up his game as the season
progressed and was dropped while at the peak of his game... why?
5.
The level of fitness from our players is questionable. I don't expect to see
Pirates players to be tired on the 60th minute and that has happened in several
games.
6.
The team flew to Durban on Friday for a Saturday game. Don't they know that
change in latitude affects the players from inland? They did the same in Port Elizabeth
and away in Angola hence the dismal display in CAF Champions League.
I
don't like the chopping and changing of coaches coz it hampers the team's
progress but currently there's no progress in the team so drastic changes have
to be made. Leal must step down....I'm not a professional coach but I
understand football n it doesn't take a genius to see the Bucs is too much for
Leal to handle.
Fans
cannot be coaches and that's a fact. There are times where fans will raise
unreasonable issues about the coach because he is not fielding their favorite
players etc. There are instances where fans will raise valid issues about the
coaches decision making n behavior n that doesn't mean they want to coach its
just a mere observation.
I
never liked Gordon Igesund but he got us positive results I was happy but I
still don't like him coz of the type of football he plays. Kosta Papic was the
same he was not my favorite coach because his system relied on Benedict
Vilakazi. If Tso was not playing Pirates was dead. Tso can miss two days at training
and he still be in the starting XI which was unfair coz we had a lot of good
players. Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic came in he had a good plan but he couldn't
earn the respect of the players coz he was too soft.
Leal
is suffering the same fate he's too soft on players especially his favorites.
It’s a fact that a coach will have favorites but they must deliver. Teko Modise
was player of the year for two seasons under Ruud Krol, but when he became
undisciplined Krol called him to order an eventually Teko left and he recently
confessed that at times he was doing things for Teko not for the team.
How many players are like that? A lot and a good coach will deal with them accordingly to prevent division in the team and so far Leal is failing to prevent division in the team.
