SABC fails to broadcast Bafana game

Written By Unknown on Sunday, September 4, 2011 | Sunday, September 04, 2011

On Facebook Coca-Cola Soccerzone broke the news that Bafana Bafana game against  Niger will be broadcast in less than 20 minutes to kick off saying: BREAKING NEWS: SABC WILL BROADCAST THE AFCON QUALIFIER BETWEEN SOUTH AFRICA AND NIGER LIVE ON SABC 1 AT 16:30… IT’S GAME ON!!!!!”

However, all that didn’t work out as planned as SABC failed to televise the Bafana Bafana vs Niger game and blamed 'whoever' for not getting the feed from France and worse failed to even update the nation about the score while they were LIVE; instead they soccer guests at the studio were busy analyzing old Bafana Bafana games.

The nation didn’t like this and here are some comments from mad South Africans via networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz, Skype and BBM:

Vusi Malapane
Which 16:30 are you referring to? Get rid of that SABC board, starting with that clueless Kaizer wht wht. We are sick of your games, SABC: the graveyard of soccer.

Onkabetse 'Shoq' Mmolawa
If we lose I know the reason... because Bafana Bafana did not have South Africa behind it... supporting them.... well done SABC.... you myt have lost us a chance to go to the African Cup of Nations... so much for South African Broadcasting you don’t support South Africa it seems!

Gabakwe Graham Mogapi
Will someone “idiot” ever loose their jobs for these so called minor mistakes and it’s not just this game stuck equipment. At airports commentators speaking with technicians on air while the game is on poor picture quality colour to be specific and commentators who give us history lessons instead of what they are paid for and to top it of you bring this idiot Kaizer to insult our intelligence just waiting for the Rugby World Cup where you will fail again as usual at least you are great at what you do suck SABC suck!

Baas Lenyora
This Kaizer of SABC did really fool us neh, they bought delay game and came up wit a plan of saying they are waiting for signal.... HOW CAN YOU DO THAT TO YOUR NATION? F**K YOU ALL SABC BOARD, YOU BLOODY LIARS, ILL BE GLAD IF YOU GET REPLACED A.S.A.P... YOU NEED MALEMA TO SORT YOU!

Mdedelwa Mandla
First you forgot your equipment in Ivory Coast during the Sierra Leonne game, now you showing the game in Paris instead of here?

Zwelethu Nondumo
Kaizer Kganyago has the audacity to say it’s not a matter of affordable but principle, he has time for bureaucracy and pride who cares right? Now we paid Sport5 R4 million instead of R5 million for a game that is not live and a game we lost. Incompetent Manager! SuperSport must take over now!

Maanda Mafunisa
Nxa you guys suck and you keep on failing the Nation. If I were SAFA or whoever who is in charge of the rights thing, I was going to take the rights from you. Nxa me so disappointed. You showing us this boring old games that we not interested in. Nxa!
Tlhaloganyo Mokgoatlheng
One thing I have learned 2day that I didn’t know is that LIVE pictures can travel all over the world for more than 90 minutes before they reach Mzansi and they are still called LIVE. SABC education, aLIVE with possibilities!!

THEN Coca-Cola Soccerzone comeback and said:  SABC Spokeperson, Mr. Kaizer Kganyago will explain the reason why we did not show the Bafana Bafana game. It was not our fault, we did everything we could

Ludwe Langa-lokulunga Mabandla
What will Kaizer explain and whose having the interest for that dirty explanation? The only thing you’ve to do now is to eat that R5 million with all SABC members…

Somandladinho Somandla
Lets speak logic here Sport 5 million are based in France meaning that since they are the rights holders they will have live feed with them ready for distribution, so Mr. Kaizer Kganyago don't come here with tendencies to think South Africans are fools, connecting was never gonna take the entire 90 minute, you will watch delay live alone.

Takelane Napoleon
Why should we pay TV licence for, Kaizer Kganyago lied to the nation, he must apologise and we don’t care about their boardroom meeting we want soccer channel. Even during the week the cant show a single domestic league game.

Nhlanhla Mazibuko
Delayed live hahaha what a joke we still waiting for the delayed live match at 22h00 who employed these clowns ayi lamavukuuuvuku ayi SABC! Never trust the SABC, even their presenters are trained to lie Just like the SABC spokesperson Kaizer who has been spreading propaganda about SportFive when its actually the SABC that didn’t want to show the Bafana game shame on you SABC!!

Ace Selaledi
Kaize kganyago... I lost respect for this man!! Lies… lies… lies!!

Phineas Tlomatsana
SABC, SAFA and CAF have one thing in common - they SUCK. I do not buy one story that comes out of their mouth. What I’ve observed yesterday was not only a shocker but utter disgust and embarrassment.  A gross incompetent of the highest form I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Why do we have to go through this every time Bafana have to play in Africa? Where is CAF in this whole high-jinks? I am so infuriated I would smack someone if one of them was closer to me . . . All these entities must just be dissolved and save us another humiliation. We need a new broom effective last-year already and it's a NO joke anymore.

Lele Mbinda
‎#Point ONE: I was even willing to watch delayed broadcasting I stayed away from anything that was updating the score, so unfair I’m still waiting! #Point TWO: after cruising at no.1 for so long we find ourselves depending on other teams outcomes to qualify mind with so many unnecessary draws we wont make the cut as the best number 2. 2012 addition we might as well forget no ways Niger will loose to an under23 Egypt!

Mohlala Hosea Tabudi
The less said about SABC the better, where is SAFA in all of this? We cannot be having an unreliable broadcaster and SAFA continues like they are not bothered with this.

Jacob Mogapi
Monkey business SABC lied to us they needed viewers for the afternoon show telling us the Bafana game will be broadcasted live I guess they still waiting for the signal. Thank you for nothing SABC guess we paying our TV licences for repeats and hard luck to Bafana next time boys.

The reason Bafana lost, is quite funny that Safa continues to do business with these comedians in the name of the majority, at least on supersport some people would watch the game, as opposed nonet Safa continues to do business with these comedians in the name of the majority, at least on supersport some people would watch the game, as opposed none
