Arguably one of the
best soccer leagues in the world, the Barclays English Premier League is
getting under way tomorrow and it’s going to be fire works for the next 9
months with 20 clubs fighting off one another. Probably six clubs are likely to
be serious title contenders; Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester
City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester United
The
Red Devils will start their campaign on a high not after defeating their neighbours,
Man City in the Community Shield. The
defending champions will be looking to stretch their 19 league
titles record and they have done so by bringing new talent into the club.
Veterans Paul Scholes and Edwin van der Sar have all retired and a new crop of
players have been brought in. The likes of Ashley Young, Wellback, De Gea and
Tom Cleverly are set to add a new dimension in Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad. They
looked convincing over the weekend only time will tell.
Chelsea
There
is a new man in charge at Stamford Bridge, a new dawn always bring, optimism,
Andre Villas- Boas is inheriting the talent of an aging squad. The former Porto
tactician seem to have faith in his troops but he has also acquired the
services of Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea are set to bid for Porto wing back Alvaro
Pereira. The 33 year old manager will be looking to mix young talent and his
old soldiers as he attempt to make his mark in the English football. Last
season the Blues finished second to Man Utd and this time around they will be
looking to challenge for the league.
Liverpool
Since
Kenny Dalglish took over the hot seat at Anfield last season, the club has
never looked back. In January they brought in Luis Suarez and Andy Carol and
these new inquisitions formed the part of a transformed Liverpool. Captain
fantastic has been side-lined since the end of last season with a groin injury
and is not expected to play until September due to an infection. However, this
summer King Kenny had added the likes of Enrique, Jordan Henderson, Charlie
Adam and Stewart Downing to bolster his squad in their for the title and
probably go level with United.
Arsenal
Manager
Arsene Wenger has spent most of the summer trying to fight off two of his mid
fielders Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. Barca according to reports are said to
be finally closing in on a deal to land Fabregas after offering £35.1m (€40m)
including add-ons while Nasri has told his France team-mates that he is on the
brink of joining Manchester City. The French coach has brought the likes of
exciting Gervinho as they try and bring their silverware drought to an end.
Having gone for 7 years without anything those at Emirates will be hoping that
their club wins something this season.
Manchester City
The
Citizens have been linked with every big name during the course of this window
transfer and they have added the services of Sergio Kun Aguero in their star
studded squad. They looked good when they played over the weekend but Mancini
still has a lot of work to do. City will
have to improve their concentration and develop a killer instinct if they hope
to challenge for the title. It’s something that has been haunting them for some
time because they lack those two qualities. However with the squad that they
have, they should be able to make the rest of the Premiership running scared. Tevez is likely to stay, that will be an
advantage to them if he gets comfortable again and Mario will just have to get
his act together.
Tottenham Hotspur
The
North Londoners have also spent the summer trying to keep Luka Modric from
Chelsea until this time. The Croatian is a wanted man by the Blues but Spurs
won’t budge. That is a sign that they
are serious about business this season. Last season they finished out of top 4,
but they did well in Champions League, going as far as the quarter final that’s
not a child’s play. This season they will also be hoping to make their mark
again and probably finish in the top four. Man such as Bale, Van der Vaart will
look to inspire the Lily whites in their quest.
Do
you think your team is ready enough to set the EPL alight and go all the way
and be crowned champions of English football or who do you think will snatch
it?

we at Pirates started well and I wonder what ZCC did Thidiela go to. Perhaps he went to the Bird logo ZCC with a Star logo on his uniform. This thing of mixing relegion and entertainment will cause people to do religion. Or it could be they did not mix the tea acoording to c=recipe card thus following correct measurements and temparatures. I would not rule out the possibility of God being mad at Thidiela for so many reasons.
Anyway I hope Black Leopards will drink Sotch and rub it off and take this ass weeping like real man. I have no much to say about the mlungu league but will keep my eyes here in black conciousness activities.
