Is Benni McCarthy too emotionally?

Written By Unknown on Friday, August 26, 2011 | Friday, August 26, 2011

Bokamoso Modikwa says: Guys Benni McCarthy really needs discipline or else he is going to cost us big time.

Tshepo Mapodisi
Explain yourself!!?

Bokamoso Modikwa
Dis guy is too emotional on the ground. He has to be taught how to talk with the referees.

Luzuko Bakaniya Tshingana
What has Benni done wrong, if you are referring to that red card?

Ntombelatr Themba
Did you watch and try to analyze the game?

Khutjo Phillip Leremi ‎Bokamoso Modikwa
Please watch the game again cause I didn't see Benni swearing or saying anything wrong, the referee and United players were out to get him. And in fact all players spoke with the officials either way I didn’t think Benni was at fault.

Løuis Chilisa Bk
Benni didn’t say anything to the referee. The only card he deserved is when he held the ball with his hand. The guy is really going to help us - just wait and see.

Bokamoso Modikwa
Guys I am not talking about this game (Maritzburg United 2-1 Orlando Pirates). Guys I am a Pirates supporter mara most of the time he is too emotional… just watch how he got that 1st yellow card and the other yellow da referee was bitter.

Shashi Motumo
The refs are going to cost us with these unnecessary cards, Benni is not at fault and let us support him coz it ain't cool to miss two games. These things happen in soccer. Suarez scored a hand goal during the World Cup. Soccer is an emotional game.

Phumzile Manganye
Guys I think you are all misunderstanding what Bokamoso is saying, he is saying that Benni himself uses his emotions much on the field specially back chatting to refs cud cost us cos he will always be a target of yellow cards... you must also remember that Benni rejected de whole country when he refused to play for the national team and so he is not a favourite to most people even de referees - so he should conduct himself in a manner that won't make him an easy target to refs, now de Sunday (red card) is different but he does need discipline believe me.

Ntombelatr Themba
Sometimes we as people read more on the people's past and take advantage of that, that's how Benni is going to suffer, all the focus is on him, whatever miner mistake is doing will be punish and that's unfair and don't forget who he playing for, the very same officials target, there is one thing we should understand that football is an emotional sport but doesn't mean someone must be the victim. There is nothing wrong Benni did, match officials are so inconsistance and targeting certain teams and players.

Khutjo Phillip Leremi
Bokamoso Modikwa and Phumzile Manganye so the fact that he refused to play for the country should earn him red cards? Soccer is an emotional sport tell me one play who is emotional in soccer, Benni has every right to plead his case with the ref like all other players and the fact that he didn't want to play for BAFANA should not be used as yard stick to judge hence we call for a review committee as soon as possible, it seems as if we are saying cause he didn’t want to play for BAFANA he should be quite

Ntombelatr Themba
Phumzile, you right but many of the players shout back on officials but they got away with that, Benni is a human being like any of us he deserve the same treatment like any individual. Remember last season in our game against Sundowns, Tlou was red carded for time wasting, what happened on Sunday, Teko was substituted and went on opposite direction to hug his teammate and came back taking his time and nothing was done, thou the clock was stopped but booking would reasonable, just imaging if we couldn't score in those last minutes, what would happen to us and I can assure you if it was our player he was going to be booked.

Thabelo Khiba
I didn't watch the game, hence I can't comment on this particular game. But, the live commentary in football365 said the 1st card was harsh, and Benni did nothing wrong to be given the 2nd, unless the commentator is a Bhakaniya Bokamoso. It is completely wrong for the refs to make Pirates pay for Benni's sins, if they are sins, for refusing to play for Bafana. It seems we should brace ourselves for a torrid season from the officials.

Luzuko Bakaniya Tshingana
@ Thabelo I saw the highlights and the first yellow was justified… Benni should have known better and the second yellow, he did absolutely nothing wrong.

Thabelo Khiba
Thanks Luzuko, two consecutive games, and dubious decisions against us from the men in the middle, aikhona. What happened to the saying "lightning doesn't strike twice at the same place"?

Luzuko Bakaniya Tshingana
We must brace ourselves for the worst to come… we always win against all odds anyway... most people in the MEDIA, PSL and SAFA support Kaizer Chiefs so they can't stand the fact that we are hot hot hot… who cares we will win clean fair and square.

Thabelo Khiba
And let's salute the ghosts who attended these games, and didn't throw "cabbages" onto the ground in protest. Wondering, is it part of the mission to get us in trouble? Hope we continue turning a blind eye to these decisions at the stadia, and venting out on Facebook. Phambili nge Operation "Facebook vent-out" Phambili

Luzuko Bakaniya Tshingana
Yeah man I was impressed with the attendance of that game considering that it was a midweek game. I hope the Ghosts will make 75% at Loftus this Sunday… we all know Mamelodi Sundowns will have 10% from Kaizer Chiefs.

Phumzile Manganye
@ Phillip please get you facts straight before saying into engekho... I didn’t say Benni deserves a red card cos he rejected de country, now you clearly didn’t watch the match that’s why you saying this. Benni's 1st yellow card... did you see what happened??? And do you think that had he conducted himself better? He wouldn’t have gotten that yellow card and would have prevented him from getting a red card... we all know that it was not fair for him to get the 2nd yellow card, but it happened and has cost us a win.

All I'm saying is we have now witnessed that the referees don’t like Orlando Pirates much and so it will be easy for them to target players like Benni who get soo emotional unnecessary and we see Bucs are not other teams and so don’t tell me bout other teams cos they don’t get to be unfairly treated like this on the field... we need to be disciplined in order for everyone to be available when needed for games like the weekend one (Mamelodi Sundowns vs Orlando Pirates)... so please people teach yourselves to read and understand what is written before  assuming what is being implied!

Thabelo Khiba
‎@ Phumzile, everyone alludes to the fact that soccer is an emotional sport, & as expected players will get emotional. If you are talking about emotions, Benni is allowed to show his emotions, provided it's done in a disciplined manner of a true sportsman, but if you are questioning his discipline, then you are talking about something different, that should be addressed if necessary

Guys take good example of Wayne Rooney he was always too emotional and he was always having cards coz of that. He made sure he changes to another person. Now look at what is happening now… less yellows for Rooney so Benni should learn from him and very soon.

Luzuko Bakaniya Tshingana
‎@ Modikwa generally you are right and that goes for Andile Jali as well. I thought you were referring to Wednesday’s game.

Bokamoso Modikwa
@ Luzuku but I told u guys that I am not referring to the Wednesday’s game coz da referee dat game was to strong for him and he was not moving with the players' pace that’s why he was referring nonsense but some players should learn to control their emotions.

Refrees decision is final, take it or leave it. Who on earth is perfect. Even at the judges plateu things can go wrong, remember it is not how you see it but how the ref sees it. Okay then lets go back in history and change all the scores because refree did not see that well. It was said lets use technology so we can be accurate that did not go well either so what in hell do you want. Lets suck it up and keep pushing and stop whinning. No time to be babysitting oldyouth. If things were that bad the match commissioner will iron that out. If you act like cry baby stay in your freaken crib and suck your thumb. Win and loose belong in the game. When I win I am still bucaneer, when I loose I am still bucaneer, when you hate me I am still bucaneer and even when you pretend to love me I am still bucaneer. Hail thee thane of Africa.
