Prayer for Bafana Bafana

Written By Unknown on Monday, June 7, 2010 | Monday, June 07, 2010

The players arrived with the church members from the Van Den Berg Street, caring South Africans flag in support of Bafana Bafana.

Vuvuzelas, drums, trumpets etc were all at high volume as the players came through from one of the main street in Westview coming to church.

The street/ Westview as a whole was painted with the South Africa supporters colours - marching through all the way from that streets to church with the trumpets guys playing the sounds.

At 11am - the church service opened with a prayer. Few minutes later Helman Mkhalele had to leave for Rhema Church as he had an appointment there too. He was called to address the congregation. He came in and advised us about the importance of having Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

Mkhalele went on and on advising especially the youth. He then left the service, and the service went on as normal with the soccer mood adding more than previous Sundays - blowing of vuvuzelas and singing… more of the soccer songs.

We had a prayer for the World Cup during the service and Edward “Magents” Motale also came on in front of the church to address the people. As you know him we couldn't stop laughing as he kept on cracking us.

The awards were given out towards the end of the service;
Best Makarapa: Daniel
Best Dressed: Lady
Best Vuvuzela blower: Precious

After the church services it was diski dance, braai, jumping castle for the kids and McDonalds sponsored food for the kids.

After and during the braai and eating we played two games against the two difference community teams from around the place in Westview.

There were two trophies to be won and two games, and each winner from both games got a trophy.

The Church teams, won both the trophies, I was in the second match playing for the church.

Yours in Love and peace,
Chesa Mpama wa le Chiefs

Magents and Midnight express good to see bo ntate moholo come out and support our game. This is great history when your heros become your fans. What I am saying is that we have an educated talented fans in the stands, least these mothers take us for granted. Thus the referees and lines man must note that we have the greatest in the stands. Mexican team will make a good friday shisa nyama. Napoleon Bonaparte's team is next on the menu, will eat them for cakes if they attempt to storm the bastill. Urugwayi will make a good zolo skeif. This world cup is defining moment of soccer at large. The so called big guns will humbled mightily.
