I take my hat of today and forever as I salute Carara Kicks.I mean Kicks were playing second team and players that are not regulars yet Mamelodi Sundowns was given the run for their money.
Kicks lost 3-1 yet played like regulars (first team)... something Kaizer Chiefs should learn.
In the first half Kicks were all over Sundowns and I was not surprised when they scored the first goal.
Most people at the stadium were still shocked and angry about the way Downs was playing! People at the stands started to form their formations and wanting to know why other players were played in wrong positions. It was like being in that Kaizer Chiefs vs. Thanda Royal Zulu game when Chiefs were struggling to find their rhythm.
Even from my distance I could see that the Sundowns bench had no answers to Kicks wonderful football. One wondered what Michel was going to tell his players in half time. The second half started with a BANG for Kicks… however the penalty killed the minors.
And I think if Sundowns dint get it… they’ll be washing their jersey today with OMO or Sunlight. Surprise Moriri was yet again to the rescue of the Brazilians when he scored - from there it was Sundowns all over Kicks.
Overall Kicks put on a fighting spirit that Mpumalanga Black Aces put in the previous Nedbank Cup against the same Sundowns team.
