Can Bay United survive relegation?

Written By Unknown on Friday, March 13, 2009 | Friday, March 13, 2009

Bay United Football Club is the top professional football club in Port Elizabeth. The club is affiliated with the National Soccer League (NSL) and is the flagship football club of the Eastern Cape.

The club came into existence in 2006 when the franchise of struggling National First Division club Maritzburg United was purchased by Volkswagen South Africa and relocated to Nelson Mandela Bay. After the 2006-07 season, Sipho Pityana purchased the club from VWSA.

The club is currently managed by Khabo Zondo, and captained by Duran Francis. Their home ground is The EPRU Stadium in Humewood Port Elizabeth, where they can be seen playing in Red and White Puma Kit or their away strip of Blue and White.

Only 5 games to go. This means we need to WIN all of dem and hope that Bloemfontein Celtic, Maritzburg United, Thanda Royal Zulu and Platinum Stars drop points. Its time for these players to make PE and the rest of the Eastern Cape proud!

Well done Bay boys for winning in the Nedbank Cup. Let’s put on this kind of performance in the Premier League. We want u guys to remain in PSL and I want another double against Mamelodi Sundowsns next season.

Three in a row against da Brazilians!!!!! But all of that will be gone as we will be playing in the FIRST DIVISION! I blame poor management.

Sup Bay fans I just wanna say the new Bay manager is doing a crap job. We sitting in the relegation zone and we can’t get out… cum on… how can Bay let the manager that got them into the PSL go?

I’m hurt so I won’t comment on the LEAGUE gents.

Let’s have the biggest crowd of Fire Lighters (Umlilo supporters) on the 21st of March in our Nedbank Cup. We mustn’t allow Black Leopards to dominate us on the stands. Your support will make a BIG difference. UMLILO!! Let’s keep the fire burning.

Thando
Mr. Khabo Zondo – this is my formations. I think you must use them for us to survive relegation.

3-5-2, 4-4-2, 3-3-4 - you choose the one you like! We pray for the Lord's Guidance on the next upcoming fixtures in the league. Umlilo will keep on burning!!!

I think we as the Bay United fans need to petition against this poor performances by the players. They make us look like a joke. U can’t even wear the Bay jersey with proud these days. Beating teams like Sundowns is good, but when the team fails to win against the teams with the same standard as us is a shame! Bayakwazi ukubulala ispirit sethu lamaplaya.

Beating Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns was possibly the worst thing to have happened to us. Management possibly felt that we could now aim for higher than "just surviving" and the players just can't seem to get it together when playing similarly-matched opposition like Free State Stars and Platinum Stars.

But no matter what - never interfere. You appoint someone to do the job - let him do it and judge him by the goals that you set at the start of the season. Very disappointed. This will hurt us - we might have just condemned ourselves to NFD.
