Football Barbage

Now that the year is coming to an end, Mr. Know it ALL is mulling over some of the horrendous things he has read over the past year. I hope for the sake of the soccer loving public people who bother to write about football will also take time to think before they do. Now some of the garbage that I have read goes a little like this:

Having been a footballer automatically makes one a good administrator - garbage.

There are no more big teams in the PSL – garbage.

A Portuguese or French speaking coach cannot coach African players; there will a language barrier – garbage.

Two good games make you a star – garbage.

25 year olds are young players – garbage.

Jomo Sono is so perfect, “he should be the chair of the PSL”, “he should be the president of SAFA”, “he should be the national coach” “he would solve all football problems”, garbage, if he is so perfect why is his team playing in the lower league.

Beating Chiefs, Pirates or Sundowns makes you a big team - garbage.

Sundowns, the aristocrats. The Galacticos, money talks, they will sweep everything - garbage.

Everyone who played in the 70s and 80s is a legend - garbage.

The national second division teams must get more money, why? So they can recruit the PSL has beens? Garbage.

Underperforming coaches must not be fired, garbage, wait until you are the one who invests R100 million rand in a soccer team before you say that.

Kaizer Chiefs has no quality players, garbage, they have a phenomenal seven quality players according to Muhsin.

Itumeleng Khune is a world class keeper – garbage, the boy needs some work.

South Africa got an easy Confederations draw – garbage, there is no such thing as an easy draw when it comes to South Africa.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, Mr. Know it ALL’s New Year resolutions is to take all of these self proclaimed experts who jump on the bandwagon of criticism to the cleaners. If you are going to write, write some sense.
