Things have not been smooth sailing at Mamelodi Sundowns. We all know that that Mr. President has high expectations with this Pretoria outfit. It must be said that Ntate Tlhopane was the best thing that ever happened to our soccer in this decade. The man has basically turned our soccer for the better, ask all the players at Downs. They all happy and I hope they are saving money because I would really hate to see a poor ex-Sundowns player.Thanks to Ntate Tlhopane, we now know that there is a player that earns R200 000 a month here in SA. Soon we will know more about how much our players are earning as they renew their contracts for better ones. Who would have believed that we can have this transparency into player acquisition? Who would have believed that Kaizer Chiefs would not afford a player from Thanda Zulu Royal one day?
It was news to my ears that Chiefs failed to get Siboniso Gaxa, because they were told that he is going No-where by the management at Supersport United, only to be quickly released to Bafana -ba-Style. There are so many unbelievable things in our soccer these days. Look at the first price of the PSL, and compare it to the first price at the lower division, hmmm, unbelievable.
Today I got news that Ntate Tlhopane is in talks with Frank Rijkaard, and I did not get surprised at all. Look with the players at Downs, you need someone they would listen to, Trott Moloto does not have the pedigree to lead the charges at Cloornkop, and Tlhopane knows it. Sundowns are setting the pace, simply raising the bar, so who would be the perfect candidate for the Coaching job at Pretoria that Frank?
I can hear the guys in and around Pretoria singing, "Dumela Motsepe", when they get the breaking news.
