The
dejected Mosimane could not hide his disappointment after the heavy defeat
against the student.
“Yeah well,
I think Wits got their chances and utilised them. We didn’t. How many did we
have but it is this kind of the game that you see that we can play the whole
day until tomorrow but we were not ready to put it inside the net.”
Mosimane
blamed elementary mistakes for conceding soft goals and strongly believe that
Rodney Ramagalela disallowed goal was legitimate.
“We made
elementary mistakes in the first goal. I might be wrong but maybe that one
scored by Ramagalela on the far side. I don’t know. I have to check the video
but from what I saw maybe it was not an offside but it doesn’t mean anything,
even if he scored that one, tonight it wasn’t our night, we were just not
there.”
Mosimane is
always worried about missing clear cut goal opportunities and also missing key
influential players in his team.
“We came
back in patches but look off course I am relying on the players I am missing. I
am missing a lot of players but we have enough of players that could have won
this match but we didn’t win it. We created enough chances to get two or more
goals. We are not clinical in the first half to really take it. The first 15
minutes it was us but I knew that Wits will go higher up and higher up and head
the ball and second ball goal. You know the story… it doesn’t matter they are
all goals.”
“(Dove) Wome
came back, he scored…I thought he could have got something if he was very
clinical not trying to be fancy. Those are two goals.”
The coach
mapped out his way tactical way forward to turn the corner in the next game.
“We have to
come back what we can do. It is difficult. It happens. This is football. It
happens for big team. We have to regroup. We have to see what we have in terms
of who comes back maybe Khama (Billiat) comes back or let me get (Tiyani) Mabunda
back or somebody but look we don’t score enough goals. The play is okay. We create
chance but we don’t take them. So what can I say? It’s football. I can’t do
much. I have to support the team by bringing the team up, give them confidence
and we go to the next game. It’s okay. It’s part of the football.”
