Premiership log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs have even more reason to smile after star
striker Bernard Parker and coach Stuart Baxter were among the winners when the
announcement of the Q1 and Q2 were made at the PSL offices in Parktown,
Johannesburg.

Mosimane, the Mamelodi Sundowns coach, was another winner on Monday afternoon.
Parker
has performed consistently throughout the 2013/2014 season so far and to this
point leads the goalscorer chart with 10 goals. His form has certainly not gone
unnoticed and he scooped both the Q1 and the Q2 Absa Premiership Player of the
Quarter awards walking away with R30 000 for his efforts.
Mamelodi
Sundowns superb early season form allowed their coach Mosimane to collect the
Absa Coach of the Quarter for Q1 prize with Amakhosi mentor Stuart Baxter
collecting the Absa Coach of the Quarter prize inspiring his team to 6 wins in
7 outings during Q2. Both coaches took home R15 000 each.
Convenor
of judges Farouk Khan commended the winners on their achievements, and made
special note of Parker’s efforts throughout the season. “Parker has proved that
he is no flash in the pan by showing the goal-scoring consistency that is
required from a top striker and is fully deserves to win the prizes from Absa
for the first two quarters of the season,” said the experienced coach.
