Goalkeeping
department: I would say Mamelodi Sundowns. They have Kennedy
Mweene (Zambia's number
one and an Africa Cup of Nations winner) and Wayne Sandilands (South Africa's
third choice goalkeeper).
Defence
department: This could be between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, though
they have more cover and versatility than us.
Midfield
department: I would say Orlando Pirates, but Mamelodi Sundowns is also a close
contender.
Striking
department: This could again be between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Bench
department: Definitely Mamelodi Sundowns.
So
what is the trick to winning championships? Finding a balance that works
between the starters and the reserves and building a team environment/team
spirit where players are prepared to fight for the team badge and each other
and good tactical plans.
This
also has to be complimented with depth/quality both in the core of the team and
the subs and that is where we are lacking. Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter
cannot become a bad coach over night. He spoke of his desire to sign a few
players and all he got was Knowledge Musona on loan.
Can
we really blame him when so many have failed before him for the same reasons?
The one season where we signed quality players we won a double, but instead of
continuing and learning from that our management showed us the middle finger.
I
will not tippy toe around this issue. Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby 'Bobsteak' Motaung and his team failed us!!! We are not what we should be right now. But
because of our undying love for this team, we will continue to rally behind
them even through the storms. Bottom line kore Bobby must GO!
