Kaizer
Snr was a man enough to apologise to the fans. Baxter got the feeling that he
is actually working in a big brand, more than a team. He made it clear to Kaizer
Snr that he will transform the Soweto giant into the league winning team. So he
did when yesterday we witnessed the rise of Khosi. Many believed that Bloemfontein
Celtic will stop Chiefs and how wrong where they. Chiefs is so much consistent
this season and I won't be surprised if they win the title with 2/3 games
remaining.
What
Orlando Pirates did wrong was to allow Tuks (University of Pretoria) to claim a
point and that gave Chiefs enough courage to bury Celtic. Chiefs fans should
not doubt their team to lift this Premiership, they should plan for the
celebrations at the end of May because Pirates is down and out, unless miracles
can happen as this is football.
Pirates
should now make sure they win CAF Champions League come November to complete
their season. As for Chiefs, they have been waiting for the title in the past
seven seasons if my memory serves me well. For them to lift this trophy means a
lot to the team, fans, Kaizer Snr and the sponsors. What kind of a team that
has almost half the support of the country, hundred thousands of rands per
season from Vodacom and a large amount of publicity and still can't manage to lift
the league title? They do deserve it.
Although
Pirates have a mathematical possibility of lifting the title, it’s now all but
surely in their rivals hands. It was their turn in the last 2 seasons, winning
double treble. Pirates' season is not lost though, as the CAF Champions League
awaits them.
