Our
football will never reach the standard so many soccer lovers seek to advocate
for. Fans all around the Premier Soccer League (PSL) are not united behind the FIFA FAIR PLAY, we so attached to our
own teams as a result views and our analysis of the game are so biased.
We
have a fan and a sportsman. There are times where one needs to get out of
fan/supporter shell and look outside the fan box and become a sportsman, woman.
In all these referee's blunders the most likely teams that will suffer are the top three big names because they are always in contestation and competition, the rest teams in the league care less because of less voice and support base.

Fact
of the matter referees are in consistent however nothing gives any fan a right
to be violent, yes there are emotions involved. But then who suffers at the end
– the very same supporter. We need action against referees like it happened in 2013
Africa Cup of Nations, they must be a performance based assessment system on referees
and bad officiators must be demoted to lower leagues and I still say they must
be a review committee for reds cards.
Furthermore the South African Football Association (SAFA) and PSL need to have a sponsor that make referees full time employees and weekly sessions must be held to help refs with understanding and interpreting the rules of the game.

Last
but not least at no stage do I expect a Kaizer Chiefs fan to rally behind an
Orlando Pirates foul decision and vice versa due to loyalty in our respective
teams. However, I do expect a sportsman/woman to look beyond the loyalty and
unite behind a common purpose that of a Super League and ensure FIFA FAIR PLAY wins. The standard of referee
is a call for concern in the PSL and the sooner it improves the better.
