To
all the emotional, disappointed and heartbroken soccer fans who already dumped
Bafana Bafana for other nations, don't forget that "United we stand,
divided we fall" as a nation. Let's put our rivals aside by rallying
behind our boys without first checking who is playing and from which team. At
the end of the day, we are all South Africans and must be proud of our boys.
Supporting
other teams demean our love for the beautiful game. Prior to the 1990 (
apartheid era), it was every soccer fan dream to see our boys competing in the
international games and now we are living that dream but unfortunate many
soccer fans are de-valuing this living dream.
We
can't be divided by mere subjective team selection. Let's acknowledge that not
all the players can be selected at once and not all the 23 players selected
will play in the tournament. It’s part of the game. Our job as fans is to
support the boys 100%.
Bafana
Bafana is not about Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates but a national pride.... soccer
fans can do better than sowing unnecessary division....
We
need to give our boys undivided attention during Africa Cup of Nations 2013 by
respecting the Gordon Igesund unpopular and so called subjective selection.
Let's stop arguing and bury the hatchet for the sake of the national pride. We
can't use our local team rivals to sabotage our national team. We need to have
pride in our boys.
We've
come too far to turn back now on Bafana Bafana. Let's show patriotism to our
boys.
