Puzzles
me how Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa and his two assistant coaches of Eric
Tinkler and Teboho Moloi planned the AmaZulu game. Only one player from the Black
Leopards game was unavailable for selection but there were a few unexpected
changes made that did not make sense to me. I plead with Diskioff readers to
make me understand…
Why
did Ndumiso Mabena start the game when he has not had enough game time since
his injury, because he created 1 goal? Our attacking formation of 4-3-3 was
good since communication between our three attackers was almost telepathic.
As
for replacing Ndumiso Mabena (striker) with Onyekachi Okonkwo (midfielder) when
we need a goal also didn’t make sense as we noticed that in certain moments
when Tlou Segolela was trying to play a more attacking combination with him he
was thinking more possession that’s why he kept playing back passes.
Mpho
Mokola has not had much game time since Joining Pirates why him over Tlou, Why
Mabena over Daine Klate. Reason why the guys could barely pass each other was
because the squad had changed so much hence the miscommunication. We have all
noticed that Sifiso Myeni is more effective when playing behind the strikers… why
not play Klate and Tlou as winger Myeni behind striker and Collins Mbesuma in
front?
Lehlogonolo
Masalesa and Oupa Manyisa as central midfielders that gives Patrick Phungwayo
and Thabo Matlaba space to overlap and Siyabonga Sangweni and Rooi Mahamutsa
central defence and then if we do get a goal or two you pull one of the wingers
and add midfielder?
If
you want to give the other guys a chance to play, do it in the second half when
we are winning, when you want to change the shape of the game not in the
starting line-up.
