“Safa
lodges appeal with CAF - Safa has lodged an appeal with the Confederation of
African Football regarding the outcome of qualification for the 2012 Africa Cup
of Nations tournament to be held in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.” Kick Off website
Why
SAFA (South African Football Association) stooping this low? The 14.1 clause [(14.1 Greater
number of points obtained in
the matches between the concernedteams) – CAF website;] was there before the game. CAF (Confederation
of African Football) will never amend qualification clause for the sake of
Bafana Bafana.
We
should have won the game to embarrass this boardroom exit... SAFA and Pitso
Mosimane were ignorant by not familiarising themselves with qualification
regulation. I have perused the document prior to the game and happy with the
outcome.
Bafana
failed to qualify and this is the same clause that kicked Mali out of Angola
AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) after having a goal difference ahead of Angola
but because of ranking lower than Angola, Mali was kicked out and they never
complain.
Is
South Africa too special to challenge Issa Hayatou? The answer is NO... the appeal
will get Size 12 boot of Hayatou. There is no case here… it’s just a case of misunderstanding
only by South Africa. The regulations were there and SAFA endorsed them. We
voted for this qualification regulation. Let's swallow our pride and accept the
outcome.
Congratulations
to Niger... they have done themselves a huge favour… Pitso is confused and
deserved to be axe. SAFA should fix internal organizational problem whilst
Pitso should stop playing under-strengthen and fatigue teams to boost FIFA rankings...
ill-preparation cost Bafana qualification and lastly we only played our
friendly at home whilst we can win away from home.
Why
not learning from our mistakes? Blame SAFA and Pitso because CAF never
sabotaged Bafana. The qualification regulations were not approved yesterday.
They
have been there and none of African country requested an amendment prior to the
start of the qualification games so why is SAFA crying now... let's stop been a
country of cowards!
